Phenomenal podcast guys. In my opinion “honest thoughts” like this are pretty entertaining. I would encourage both of you to do more of these.

Great conversation with Matteo. 2024 has been rough, and many people saying "survive till 25" are in denial that the industry has changed.

Love Matteo and his honest and different take! Been a longtime subscriber and have learnt from him and been inspired for sure. In regards to his KZbin videos, personally I have lost a little bit of interest recently as he himself says, he doesn’t care or enjoy it as much. And it shows. And I don’t blame him. It’s probably just very difficult to be a successful KZbinr over a long period of time and keep the passion and originality fresh. The amount of BTS and filmmaking content has also seen a huge influx and over saturation. So it’s more difficult now to get people’s time of day. Since I personally am more into narrative filmmaking with a collaborative team and crew, Lewis Potts and yourself Carlo are some of the few that I still watch regularly. But we all are on our individual paths and no path is necessarily better. I’m happy Matteo is in a good place and can’t wait to see his feature documentary! Super talented dude for sure and he has contributed to Blackmagic’s success!

Interesting point about Lewis Potts channel, it may very well be algorithm assisted, but i dont believe so- as a viewer. His videos have nearly NO FAT, by which i mean, he makes a video only if it has value, not chasing views, not for the sake of content only, which makes his value greater in my opinion. I cant stand william bakers shot tutorials, content for the sake of content, over narrativised as of late, corny, Lewis Potts is chill, to the point, shot tastefully, scarcity creates value if your not chasing the views- like rick rubin says, make the art for yourself only, if not you are betraying yourself and your audience.

Matteo, loads of thing to talk but yeah Industry has changed, content has changed, trends has changed and not for the better... I agree.... it's hard. But if you think about it, the younger generation is entering the market with those news standard, and those people are striving ! But as your youtube game, man, you sell blackmagic with no rig, no cage, not even a 15mm rod, Vintage leica R and storytelling... Try sell poorly built chinese lenses, comment every last camera rumors (even if there's not) and how to OVER rig any smallcamera, and please lie by omission in reviewing gear... You'll do millions views ahah ;).

People aren't looking at your channel Matteo because you're not doing really interesting videos at the moment. I was hoping to hear your views on the New Blackmagic but you didn't really do one..
