The legend says that Admiral Sir Edward Seymour, commander of a multinational force, who was retreating from the boxers in Tianjin immediately send german marines who were reinforcing him to the frontline once they arrived to save the day. Fun fact one of my family members (my great great grandfather) was 55 days in Peeking, he was in the Austro-Hunarian army but was Croatian, and he later returned but then after 14 years ww1 started and he went to the Eastern front, and yet again he returned. What a journey

My dad had I seen the 1960's movie 55 Days at Peking with Charlton Heston. There were so many different countries came against the Boxers of China in 1900. Empress Dowager couldn't find a way to stop 11 countries from invade her country and people. The ways of old China disappeared.
