Our ancestral house are still very strong and they have done everything properly from wall to door. Modern days New houses get cracks in the wall, the door gets damaged easily even after using door stopper magnets. But our old traditional doors need not all these. And their finishing in the wall was very perfect. My dad has a old house of above 80 years. It was very good. The flooring was green coloured oxide flooring. It didn't had any damage after 80 years. But my dad changed it to modern flooring with marbonite. Even the finishing was not done properly. The wall before was a mud wall with wooden roof and stone pillar. Before our house was very cool. We gave a cement coating over the mud wall. Now the hoise is not like olden time. Also the modern tiles granite and marbonites makes our body chill which leads to leg pain. Our ancestors were always great and technologies used by them were great and related to health. In the name of modernization we are spoiling our forgetting them. Our house door weights more and we need above 4 people to carry them. Don't go against your dad. My suggestion

It's better to get a new door of the exact measures and fit it . .you can use these doors when you build another floor... its expensive fix..I agree but long term it's efficient..if you do temporary fix..you need to redo again and again.. it will cost u more to do repair and tension too
