You've probably figured this out by now, but match drilling would be to drill through both the seat and the tabs with the seat installed... this insures the holes "match". Also, a chamfering bit will clean up those burrs much better than that hand deburring tool. Finally, when you install nut plates you can put the center screw in place, then drill straight through nutplate tab hole as a guide... cleco the first hole, then drill the second the same way.

Hello @mikefairbanks, thanks for the info. I am learning still and I appreciate the comments which help me I hope as much as I may help someone else. I did drill through the holes into the seat but not with ballast in the seat. I guess at this point I will see how I fair. If I break it I will have an excuse to learn how to make some carbon fiber seat pans! I bought a chamfering bit, 100º I think too. Now that you mention it, that would have been a perfect scenario to use it in. The handheld deburring tool did not do it justice. Clecos are another of those items that I’m not yet used to. I need to think outside the bun and use them more often to hold things in place. Good call and thanks for the education. Have a warm day, Matt

The best way to do this is to get two people to sit in it when match drilling the top holes.

Thanks for the input Jeremy. How is your build coming along? I hope nothing bad will come with me not having weight in the pan while match drilling it. Have a good day, Matt

@@KingFox76 I have to build my wings next, I did not go for the quick build. You could get some people to sit in it to see how much it is out by, mark the holes and make a decision. Every time two people sit in it now will put stress on those particular holes. It could fracture eventually.

Hello@@jeremykemp3782 well that doesn’t sound great to me. I’ll have to recruit someone to sit in there with me to see how it fares. I put about 65 pounds in the seat pan when I was making my marks but not two people worth of weight. The wing build looks like it is pretty in depth, I wish you the best of luck with that and am interested in the process. Have a great day and thanks for commenting. Matt

@@KingFox76 You could just make the hole bigger in the seat pan and use a washer to the original size of the existing hole.

Matt, what cameras and editing software are you using? How about the music? I'm going to get things going before my kit arrives. Waiting for better Wx in the PNW.

Hello Stu, thanks for asking. I go between my iPhone, iPad, DJI Pocket 2 and a GoPro Hero 9. I really like the iRig holder for my phone as I can clamp it on about anywhere while videoing for up close shots. The DJI I’m still learning, I do like its size and the mic that comes with it captures the audio very well. I tried to use that mic with my iPhone but it doesn’t work that way so I’ve now picked up the DJI mics that I can record on and take video with any other device. Easy to transfer also. LumaFusion is the software I chose on my iPad, I thought the price point was good and they update it all the time and are always adding new features. Not to mention they have good YT series that walk you through about anything and their customer support has been spot on. They have a music/media subscription that I subscribe to called Storyblocks. I don’t really use much of the footage and I’m not too sure how much I like the music. I think I may end up using some of the same tracks over and over again, I’ve also had a rash of copyright issues with KZbin with that. However most of time after getting the wording just right via a back and forth with LumaFusion, after appealing the copyright issue it is usually removed after a few days. Again thanks for asking the questions. If you don’t know, I do list almost everything (minus the software for editing which I can add, thank you) under the videos where the description is. I think you have to click on “more” then scroll down, also with links if wanted. Thanks again and have a great day, Matt

@@StuPierce77 Anytime Stu, fun to know people are watching. If you are new to video editing I would recommend starting to practice. The editing is what takes me so long. Good luck with your build and your channel.
