I am amazed at how well this tractor handles without any weight on the back! I test drove one at the John Deere front lawn and it felt light in the rear. I have a jd 3520 and I would have to have my box blade on the rear to do that stuff.
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
My rear tires are loaded adding a lot of weight and so does the cab. The one you test drove might not of had ballast in the tires. I had a 3720 before this one and there is definitely a difference in stability.

Man you're braver than me, biggest thing that keeps me from getting a cab tractor is working in the woods, here in north fl/ south Ga we are very heavily wooded in these swamps, I would have broken glass once month 🤦😩 looks kinda similar to the area you're working in. Pretty thick for the most part. but man I want a cab. That is so much more enjoyable than the heat humidity dust and mosquitoes

I'm in north Florida, just prune out your trails. I'll never go back to just a open station unless it's my second tractor.

How did you decide on the jd 4066 versus their other tractors?
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
A lot of research, and my father had a jd 4052 that impressed me on how strong it was. I just knew that I wanted all the pto hp I could get due to mowing thick field grass. Never heard anyone say they had too much HP!

You must have disconnected your back up beeper. I need to do that, so annoying. Great work man, I wish I had some timber and trails
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yes that beeper was the first thing to go!
@blyz_694 жыл бұрын
@@TKCL do you just need to disconnect one wire to do that or is there something specific so it doesn't throw an error code?
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
@BKB Aviation I just simply unplugged the little beeper back there, and it did not throw an error code for me. It's underneath that same piece of metal that the three point raise and lower knob on the back of the tractor is mounted to

nice tractor.. I have a 3046R with the cab and same tires as you. My tractor feels tipsy on small hills. If I run over a rock say 6 inches tall it feels like it wants to tip. Other than that the tractor is strong. I am thinking of moving up to the 4 series looks like the rear tires are wider apart. Thanks and good work Spotsylvania VA.
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
I came from a 3 series and yes this tractor is wider and more stable. Have you tried wheel spacers on yours? A lot of people put those on the 3 series and 4 series Tractors. It's still a compact and could be tipped, but my 4 series does feel noticeably more stable.
@bertpritchett3174 жыл бұрын
@@TKCL thanks for replying I checked on wheel spacers John Deere doesn't recommend them because of the type of axes on the 3 series. So I was concerned with voiding the warranty. Thanks for your input.

Deere looks good in the woods! Your hard work is paying off. It's nice to walk around and look at your own work. My mother-in-law lives in Clermont, FL and my brother-in-law lives in Minneola, FL. I recall Minneola to be somewhat hilly for FL. You close to those areas? We also vacation in FT. Walton twice a year, every year. See ya on the next one.
@TKCL4 жыл бұрын
I'm not familiar with those areas. Most of west Florida is hilly and a small section in the central section of the state. I'm enjoying the trail build, it's going to be bitter sweet when it's done.

Love my tractor, the most powerful compact made. Watch my review video where I'm very honest about the machine. It does not have everything I expect, but the power and reliability have me sold. My last deere was 13 years old and bullet proof. If you need the review video link, let me know.
