Solid video! Although I think I missed the part where you actually express an opinion on the board (likes, dislikes, comparison to other models you've tried). A bit of unsolicited feedback: It's hard to determine the effect of your mods if you don't provide a "before" sound test. You should also provide a reference sound (such as a mouse click or a common phone notification sound) to allow us as viewers to compare the volume level of the keys with your ambient sound in relation to your mic. All I've learned from your video is what's involved in modding it and what it sounds modded. Keep at it!
@blvkoz353810 ай бұрын
If it was a pre-built I would understand the need for a before and after sound test but this is a barebone kit that you build yourself. The stabs are dry from factory on this one so why do a sound test of dry stabs? As for likes and dislikes, this isn't a review so there isn't really a need for an opinion. It's just a build video meant to show the building aspect/"modding".

I have one of these coming in the next few week - ive never actually opened a keyboard up before, but ive heard a few mentions of supporting the PCB from behind when putting switches in, so will have to open it up so as not to risk it. As its my first time, i probably wont be doing any mods - installing outemu silent tactile toms in it with some purple magical cat cherry profile keycaps as this is a build to replace my partners dead membrane keyboard.

supporting the back is definitely needed if you open it but if you don't it should just clip right in you can test one switch to make sure it works before installing the rest! If you really want to open it just unhook the keyboard from the bottom and then use a card to slide through the gaps to unhook the other latches.

@@anitaatechhi, how do you disconnect the cable from the mini screen connecting the pcb? I do not want to force it out since it is quite tight.
@anitaatech9 ай бұрын
Theres 2 black connectors(? Not sure what they’re called) on both sides of the cable you have to unhook by pulling it out a little (they don’t come out). They act like locks when they’re pushed in and unlocks when you pull them out. The cable should come out then. Try pulling it straight, do not bend it, maybe use anti static tweezers! Putting it back is just the same but reverse, make sure to push the cable all the way in before locking it. Good luck! Work slower on this part as it’s easily damaged (I broke my Nintendo switch controllers trying to repair them my first time)

Hello, I am coolcat who runs a small KZbin channel in Korea. Recently, I became interested in gmk67 and 87 and while doing research, I saw the video. I think it's a barebone kit with much better performance than I thought. It seems to take advantage of the advantages of the switch. The keycaps are pretty, too. Do you also use a slightly high-pressure switch? If so, I also recommend trying Groovestone's Milky v2 55g switch on that keyboard. Anyway! I enjoyed the video.
