Great clips of RSG Roy! You just can't beat that Napier "rumbling roar" can you? Loved it when RSG opened up on the last clip and produced the whiteout! Wonderful. Ta for the upload mate! Ken

Brill video, shame to see such an icon relegated to such duty, but saying that great to see and hear Royal Scots Grey running. Well done.

Wow the old units are sweet, im from across the pond in the usa and being a fan of the old EMD's there are several types of older diesels over there that sound great ......it looks like the old girl needs a sleeve job blowing all that white smoke, great video

No the white smoke is normal. The deltic is a two stroke engine and so burns oil by design.

Both engines working?

If I remember correctly only one engine was used to start the train to avoid too much wheelslip, then the second engine was fired up to get the train to speed. The combination of low axle loading, and high power makes the 55 very prone to slip.
