Real-Time Simulation: Ideal for simulating real-world systems.
This circuit shows the 555 timer used to generate a time base for 5 Neurons going to an axon terminal connected to an audio amplifier. Each neuron has a weight, frequency, duration and trigger point found in the Soma area. The neurons are used to gather data and output information in response.
Dendrites are used to gather data or pass information on to other neurons via terminals. Or the terminal outputs are used to control devices.
In the digital realm - this is magic
And open source!
------
The 555 timer chip has never been used like this before. By thinking out of the box you may realize that the 555 timer has an analog side.
The design goals - dial in system parameters in REAL TIME!
*Easy adjustment of multiple parameters
*Easy design for multiple outputs for controls
This circuit can be used as is, or the outputs can drive other neurons or devices. A chain of neurons is designed to use inputs and can be connected as a large group of neurons to perform complicated tasks based on inputs.
This project is well suited for CLASS, BEAM and STEM. I designed this analog simulator to show one way to make this work.
The design is endless in scope and open source! Please use the link below to download schematics, and theory of operation, PCBs and parts are available there to make assembly easy.

Forrest Mims missed this one and I cannot find anyone else doing this. I hope you give it a try; I know you will like it.
Get your schematic before trump and musk make this illegal too!
