I've been using ACCURATE 2015 @18.2gr with great results

Nice, if I ever see that powder I'll pick some up, thanks.

@@JaredHempfield I started with a 1lb jug to try out. It worked so good I went and bought an 8lb jug. I'm getting 2100fps @ sea level 16" barrel

Have you had any issues with primers popping out?

Never

So why do you think you need to shoot so close to the top of the chrono ? I aim 8 to 10 inches over it .
@JaredHempfield2 жыл бұрын
Because I buy cheap bs, they werent reading above 3 inches, lots of light diffusion. Might be easier if I put the next chrony under the EZ up.

@@JaredHempfield I've found that if I place the chrono at least ten feet from the muzzle and in a semi shaded area , it works fine . I would try something else before trying to shoot so close to the chrono . The chrono alinement to the bore is very important as is the distance from the muzzle . If the chrono is closer than ten feet , the muzzle blast will give bad readings . I always aim a minimum of 8 inches over the chrono . I've seen people place a piece of cardboard over the V posts from one V post to the other if the sun light was coming in from a bad angle also . Aiming closer to the chrono is a recipe for disaster . A camera stand with the adjustability for height and angle is a must . I hope this helps .

What mold did you use for the bullets?

The Lee 2 cavity 55gr .225 flat point from amazon, wish it was a 6 cavity

What size are they after powder coating? Do you size them? Thanks

So why powder coat the bullets?
@SilverSniffer2 жыл бұрын
I’ve thought about trying this for .223. Are you using range pick up lead only, or adding antimony?
@JaredHempfield2 жыл бұрын
Adding pewter and a little bit of antimony, Lee hardness testing it at 15. I stopped quenching after powdercoat baking, get too many smudges, going back to air dry. Wont lose accuracy or risk leading if a bald spot is showing

@@JaredHempfield I need to find some antimony. Never added any before, just some lead shot. I stocked up on projectiles before this component shortage hit so I’m not in a hurry, but I definitely want to try casting for rifle in the future.

Is the pewter better then tin?
@JaredHempfield2 жыл бұрын
@@SilverSniffer It is mostly tin with 7% antimony. Found its cheaper than buying pure antimony, usually find a 2lb plate or vase for $2-5 at the thrift stores

@@SilverSniffer Ive found some previctorian pewter that was probably mostly lead lol
