57 Namdapha Workers Demand Reinstatement, Threaten Protests

The 57 laid-off Namdapha Tiger Reserve employees have served a four-day ultimatum to the authorities, to launch series of democratic movement if their demands for reinstatement are not fulfilled.
On 1 June, a total of 57 casual employees of various categories were terminated by the Namdapha Tiger Reserve’s authorities. The PCCF cited “funding constraints” for the laid off of the employees from the service.
