Bought this tool on amazon. Never changed a steer tire in my life and thought to learn to change them as a O/O. And this thing works! Just takes patience and read the instructions and its pretty simple.

After you pull the first bead over , place a 4x4x4 wood block under the sidewall . This will hold the lower bead up so the tool easily grabs the lower bead .

Thanks for sharing, broke down two steer tires couple months ago for the first time with just the spoons, hurt my shoulder really bad, so am going to try this tool out now that the steers need to be flipped, hoping this tool will be easier on my shoulder joints.

@@57bagre You shouldn't have to take any wheel to a tire shop. Cheap tire irons and proper technique is all that is needed. If you use too much muscle, you are doing it wrong.

Would this work on an 18” tire? The smaller one looks like it might work but the big one looks too big. Idk why they don’t make a smaller one for people who are tired of going to tire shops
@mattdudley3789 Жыл бұрын
No because .5" tires that these tools are designed for are set on a tapered bead. These type of tools won't work on a flat bead. However, standard 24" tire irons are $8 from Harbor Freight, which will do the job. I have a Vevor slide hammer bead breaker which works on pretty much any tire. Very similar to the Ken-tool I use at work
@vicpetrishak770510 ай бұрын
Before dismounting the second bead place a 4X4X4 wooden block underneath the tire side wall . It will keep the bead in place so the tool grabs the bead .

I thought Truckers was all about made in America. Vevor is a China based company. Probably a copy of some American style, Hints the cheaper price. 🇺🇸

Well, if we were, (all about made in America) we wouldn't have much to come home to since there isn't much made here anymore. Besides Vevor gave this to me to do the video. Thanks for commenting.
