The metal doughnut cut in half is a great idea for reversing the air intake.

I’m not sure about some of the subies but I think most you can just flip the intake manifold around and it still bolts up

I think the fuel filter would be better placed after the fuel pump? if the fuel pump was to malfunction debris would end up in the injectors.

How is it on the road, I had mine in that location but on the bulk head instead of the lower plate like yours. Mine was giving me temp issues and it was very loud
@--SubaruSwapVWBeetle5 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late response. The fuel pump is a little loud but other than that I've had zero issues.

How much space is between the rear of the engine and the rear of the tires and what hight tires are you running I'm narrowing my torsion housing by 10" so I'm wondering how much tire I can run before the motor starts messing with the tires. Great build man keep it up 😀
@Baker56957 жыл бұрын
VW 1 thanks man it's hard to find info on that kind of thing I don't think to many people are running a Subaru motor with giant drag tires I'm planning on running 515/45 15r when I'm done

What size are your tires? Do they rub in the front? Who makes those rims? Also what master cylinder and reservoir is that? Thanks. Looks great!

How can I make a shortened ej16 engine drive set
@LJ-gn2un5 жыл бұрын
Very nice job! You've done a ton of work! But if I can make a safety suggestion for you - do NOT run your fuel lines through the inside of the car. It's an accident waiting to happen. Run them through the tunnel. Heaven forbid you get in an accident and there is damage to that line if there's not a rollover switch on your pump. Especially if you've got a hot sparking battery running right beside it ... well you can imagine the rest.
@LJ-gn2un5 жыл бұрын
At the very least install a rollover switch. They are very inexpensive and easy to wire in. There have been many cases of fuel fed car fires after rollovers because the engines kept running or the pump didn't shut off like it was suppose too. And yes, a car engine can run upside-down! I won't want to be trapped in the car in that case, especially with the fuel pump feeding the fire. I'm an aircraft tech by trade and I'm all about safety!

Would like to know where you purchase the fuel tee. thanks

Do you have to program the ecu?
@--SubaruSwapVWBeetle3 жыл бұрын
No it's a stock ECU so no programming required. But on 2005+ the ECU is tunable so I always have that option.

What transmission you hve?
@--SubaruSwapVWBeetle3 жыл бұрын
In that video it was a stock 71' irs trans 4:12. That transmission did finally let go and I upgraded to a somewhat prostreet/ freeway flyer. The new trans is super built with a quafie diff and a 3:44 gear and a bunch of other stuff. m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2277685209218797&id=100009320192608

How did you wire the ecu/pcm into the vw harness. Did you just splice within or removed everything and start from scratch.

I have a lowered VW, how much clearance with ground do those headers provide? Also, will a muffler fit behind the rear apron? Thanks for your videos.
