I have never really been a Ford man and a lot of my dislike came from the twin I beam suspension. Growing up in the 80s and 90s my Grandpa had 78 and 79 ford f150 two wheel drive trucks on the farm. They where worn out and you couldn't hold them in the road to save your life. I like the styling of the 60s and early 70s f100 and I think with the crown Vic front end they would make and excellent driving pickup for street driving. It looks like this is a fairly easy and economical swap from most any old pickup. I would like to swap one under a 60s international pickup. Thanks for the video I have learned enough watching KZbin I think I can just go to junk yard get one and put it under anything.

I have a factory frame dimension sheet. The dimension from the front of frame to centerline of wheel hub is 36”. Does the dimension you gave me put the wheel hub of the crown Vic at 36”. I don’t want to mess this up. Thanks Kerry.

Nat Gaseng Bro, if you have a factory frame dimension sheet that gives you that Measurment then go with it. I didn’t have a factory frame dimension sheet and didn’t even know what the distance from the front of the frame to the Nipples on the CV front end was until you asked. So I guess some day when I pick back up on the build I’ll find out if I’m good to go or fucked!

This is one of the best I've seen on this upgrade. What size bit for the bottom bolt hole?

Thanks for checking in William. After a long break on the 58 F100, I have partnered with a Father / Son team to get back on track with the build. A new video is in the works. Thanks again.

You have to notch the rear lower frame rail so the cv sits flush to the bottom of the frame
@mikehealy50464 жыл бұрын
Is there anywhere I can see how that's done. I have searched every thread possible but cant find notching anywhere. The rail is not flush unless notched. I have a 1960 f100 ready to put the CV ifs in.

What was the inside diameter and outside diameter of the spacer tubing welded into the frame vertically for the 4 bolts of the suspension. What was the length. Also, I think it depends on where the centerline of the Crown Vic spindles are to determine the correct measurement. You might be right on. I just haven’t found if the nipples on the bottom are the centerline off the spindles. Thanks

I take it you never have watched a single episode of Fast n Loud when almost every freaking thing they built they put a crown Vic front end under. Get some damn education before you tell someone that their project looks like crap ass hole!
