Good luck with that. I'm 76 years old and have I've been messing with one for 20 years. But I can't seem to stick with it. I get involved with too many home improvements etc. Mine is going to more of a custom but either way they are cool.

Who would have tought these Boats would have been so much wanted and desirable one day. I know it's not a GTO or Charger, but it's sure a head turner. 30 years ago, I felt in love with a 57 Nomad at a local dragway park. My friends would laught at me and say I was crazy when I said that I prefered that Nomad to any chevrolet cars in the lot. 30 years later, I still feel the same way. I personaly have a 66 Starchief Executive 389ci 4bbl 325hp-425fp/torque that I have kinda hot-roded with custom multi tones and sanded flames trough 5 coats of different paints to have a real burning effect coming out of my headlights. I love your project. Hope I come across a station wagon one day that I can resto-mods myself.

Thank you for your comment. I totally agree. They are rare and I like the fact that few folks own one these days. They were the early version of today's SUV. I can't wait to drive this car. I have a way to do before it's done. Stay tuned.

I'm so glad you are going to restore this beautiful 1958 Pontiac Safari. Fortunately you have the original seat upholstery intact, from which new fabric can be inserted in the vinyl embossed vinyl bolsters. You also know the original paint colors. I hope you will have it repainted as original - no "patina." With a set of wide whitewalls and original hubcaps, It will be absolutely magnificent.

@@1958PontiacSafariRescue at first sight I figured both quarters, all 4 floor pand and rear floor would all be severely rotten. I can tell she will rake a Hella lot of time and money . My mid engined 69 chevy g10 108 van has lots of hard to notice without opening her doors and she's been in Arizona and Cali her whole life since my dad ģot her new (he gave her to me in 1991 for my HS Grad present). I have stainless rain gutter trim that fits the Pontiac and Chevy. 2 long side and 2 rear corners. I don't see the short straight piece for across the back. Also, the lift gate handle, push button escutcheon, and possibly the mechanism all fit the 1959, 1960 Chevy sedan delivery as well as the 1960 1965 ish Chevy suburban panel.
