Lisa these Ink flowers are gorgeous, this one looks like a photo of a silk flower (so real). I wanted to say the first time I watched you doing one of these flowers, is that it reminded me of one of my favourite Ballet Tutus. Thank you Lisa for this tutorial, I really love working with Ink, it is so relaxing and a beautiful medium. Many years ago, I painted a Geisha on thick brown paper that I had painted with white acrylic (once it had dried). I used sticks and feathered the ends on some of them, she turned out so beautiful. WOW !!! I absolutely LOVE LOVE this !! Kinda makes me sorry I took a break & missed it when it was happening !! It's been great coming back & watching what you have been doing over the last year or so, I love seeing all the new & different techniques & things you have been doing, you have become an AMAZING Artist !! I've recently watched a few videos from other artists that I used to watch regularly before taking a break & I still like them but A LOT are still doing the same exact techniques/pours they have been doing from the start. It's just so nice to see how you, Tracie & a couple others have really grown & expanded your artwork !! One of the main reasons I even got away for a while is bcuz I was getting so bored just doing the same old pours & techniques myself & started having a hard time getting myself motivated. But now I feel soooo inspired by you & Tracie (especially) & a couple others that it feels good to be getting back !!! So glad I came across this video, I've always loved the look of alcohol inks but never felt confident to attempt it, but this right here has me starting a new "Things I need to order" list. Yeah, I've been so bored with the same old stuff and never wanted to be a one-trick-pony so have been teaching myself watercolors, pastels (okay, fancy chalk! lol!) and sketching but I don't think it's anything anyone would be interested in yet so haven't shared but hoping to when I improve a little more. I LOVE alcohol ink and have thought to include more ink in my channel in case others are as bored as me! lol! Saw a fade technique I want to try so that may be coming soon! What a super tutorial. Step by step teaching. Question...did the kamar varnish slightly change the look on the top petals? They seemed a little grainy after spraying. Overall a beautiful result and one of the best alcohol ink tutorials ive seen. Can i see more from this girl? Ps i much prefer to hear it explained as art with just music just doesn't work for me 💙

Thanks so much for the kind words and while I auditory appreciate your learning style, but most of my tutorials are visual (without speaking) so not sure how much they will help. I think when I took the photo with the Kamar varnish, it hadn't complexly dried and that may have altered the petal look. It dries completely smooth with a mild gloss. Thanks so much, Dwain! Yes, you can do ink on canvas but I've found that the inks move easier if you first put down a base coat of acrylic paint...helps the inks move more easily =)

Thank you, Adriana! You can use ink on canvas, but it's a good idea to paint the canvas before adding the inks...just makes them move more easily without staining. May have to give this a go just to see what happens! lol!

Do you find this method better than just air from an airbrush? I too have issues with carpel tunnel/arthritis. I know technique and practice plays into it. But aside from that..?

For me, I just have more control with the hand blower than the airbrush. If I practiced more with the airbrush, I may change my mind but you could start with whatever you have on hand. ❤️

I bought all the items listed on order to try this including new Ranger inks. Despite shaking vigorously & using my mini vortex to shake them the inks look like they separate & don't mix to a smooth colour. Am I doing something wrong please or could they be old inks bought now please? I can send a photo if you need to see. I just noticed my isopropyl is 90%, could this be the issue please?
