This is a great video, not only your commentary but also little takeaways from other riders. Like if Alec Briggs couldn’t stand the heat at position 40 then newbies should take note not to hang there even though it may seem easier. Ps couldn’t see the WKO file you mentioned. Keep up the great content 👍👍👍

Great footage with amazing commentary, Alex! With the commentary every move made sense or at least why you rolled the dice (you'll ever only know afterwards if and when it'll work). Amazing cornering on your part, especially into the home straight. And great timing of attacks, fully using your advantage in that corner. A pleasure to watch! I wonder, if the sprinty Chinese guy didn't accelerate that hard out of every corner and rode more consistently whether he would have had more of a punch in the final.

Really enjoyed watching that and remembering the metal/blood aftertaste after these efforts . The commentary was spot-on. Cheers.

This was so enjoyable. I had my toes curled every time you hit that left handed with your tyres on the brick wall. Apart from that stress, thank you very much.

Love the camera work. I used to ride crits 30 years ago in California. We had rim brakes, downtube friction shifters and sometimes tubular tires. There is nothing like riding 50kph for an hour with 100 strangers around a single city block to strike fear into your heart. I showed this footage to my wife, and she just didn't get it. It is very very hard to believe that I used to enjoy doing this. What was I thinking?
@blackflamesolutions5268 ай бұрын
Brilliant analysis! Alex (and others), when you talk about being competitive at this sort of thing on 8 hours a week, with one long ride on the weekend, what would the rest of the week look like (assuming the long ride is +/- 3 hours). a couple of zwift races, an interval session and a bit of Z2? I'm imagining the 80% low intensity rule goes out the window? Back at this after racing elites in 2008 (in NL) only now have busy job and child competing for my time.
@bobbrian65268 ай бұрын
i think my strategy, also not being a sprinter, would be to aim to have a gap a lap or two from the finish. So that would mean being in a good spot 10mins from the end and making sure no one else got a break around that time

It would be great if you can do the same when you come for winter track league. Is it FullGas/Tony or Lee Valley that would have to sign off on the GoPros?
