With today's higher wall voltages (123 VAC in my house) that 470R cathode resistor is going to cook your output tube. With that resistor value your output tube will be dissipating somewhere around 19 watts. In my experience a higher value of 800 ohms or so will get you in the ballpark.

Good job. I'm not judging because I've definitely had to do it too.... but if you can at al control it, I would try to do any chassis drilling before mounting components (especially the transformers). It's scary to think about where the metal filings could end up and short circuit something. When it was unavoidable, I've covered the spot with tape on both sides before drilling to hopefully contain the filings.

@@pastamatt that thought had occurred to me after I drilled a hole and made a small mess. I guess I like to make my life complicated! I meticulously vacuumed and cleaned as much as I could but the safer option would have been to do as you said. Oh well!
