I don't think RB in Time domain has any definition in NR. Please correct me if you think otherwise.

It's not very much clear. But 1 symbol definition is used across literature and industries.

resource element is smallest in time domain so 1 symbol notation is also correct and more precise

@@curiousbeing8585 I think it you use the 1 symbol with 12 Sub carriers, it would be called a Resource Element Group(REG) according to NR terminology.

Why we have less rb in 5g

It's not exactly like that. In NR 20MHz 15KHz (which is similar configuration to LTE), number of RBs are equal to 106. You can check this in Table 5.3.2-1 of 3GPP 38.101-1.
