Southwest Airlines - Full Flight POV: Phoenix, AZ (PHX) to Ontario, CA (ONT)

-Trip Report, Vlog, my window seat view/POV videos, Photo slideshow. Hope you enjoy!
-Maricopa County (East Valley, AZ) to San Bernardino/Riverside County (Inland Empire, CA). Speed! Comfort! Convenience! Daytime, morning, southwest USA, west coast USA.
-I took a quick/solo trip from Phoenix, Arizona to Ontario, California and back. I planned this in advance, for fun and to fill a longtime void.
-This is part 1 of my round trip in the same day (Leaving home). Part 2 (ONT-PHX, return home) will be uploaded next on my channel.
-My full/complete flight from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in AZ (PHX) to Ontario International Airport in CA (ONT). PHX to ONT, PHX-ONT. Just under 1 hour!
-Southwest Airlines, Boeing 737-700 aircraft.
-Window seat/right side/behind the wing POV of: taxi to runway, takeoff, most of flight with snack & drink service, landing, and taxi to the gate.
-Flight attendant announcement after surpassing altitude of 10,000 feet. Plus the "Welcome" announcement after arriving.
-Smooth ride, little to no turbulence. A few clouds. Mostly clear and sunny. Not as much smog in SoCal at this time of year. A bit of snow on the mountains. Saguaro cactus, sand and rocks, palm trees, pine trees, foothills, dry heat, cooler, humidity.
-Liftoff, ascent, cruise at cruising altitude, descent, approach/final approach, touchdown.
-Filmed with a handheld GoPro & Iphone SE.
-Awesome views of: Tempe, ASU campus, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, South Mountain, 60 Freeway, Scottsdale, Camelback Mountain, Tonto National Forest, Salt River, Sky Harbor runways & terminals, Downtown Phoenix, Interstate 10 Freeway, Glendale, Peoria/Sun City, White Tank Mountain, AZ/CA state line & Colorado River, Blythe, Rice Valley, Joshua Tree National Park, Desert Hot Springs, wind turbines, San Gorgonio, San Bernardino National Forest, Yucaipa, San Bernardino Airport, Interstate 215 Freeway, Rialto, Fontana, Auto Club Speedway/California Speedway, Interstate 15 Freeway, San Gabriel Mountains to the north, Ontario Mills, ONT airport runways and terminals, Santa Ana Mountains to the south.
*I finally took this specific flight/route/round trip again, on Southwest Airlines, for the first time since 1999. (it's been 21 years!!)
On a few occasions back in the 90's (I was just a young boy), we either flew Southwest or America West, to/from PHX Sky Harbor. Our main local/home airport was Ontario (ONT).
-This also makes up for not filming my previous two arrivals into ONT (from COS during afternoon in the summer of 2007, and from DEN at night in the summer of 2010).
As well as the many arrivals back in the late 90's or early 2000's, when coming home after trips across the country (Midwest & East Coast to visit family or as tourists in general).
But it wasn't until 2007 that I had a camcorder and started filming or taking photos.
-I did, however, film our arrival from DFW at night in the summer of '07: • American Airlines Flig... (Full edited return home video on 2nd channel, ORF to DFW to ONT)
-In 2018, I flew PHX to SNA (Orange County), PHX to BUR (Burbank), & PHX to SAN (San Diego). I still have to do PHX to LAX (Los Angeles).
-Context: I wanted to show what is an important part of my history, from when I was growing up to now as a young adult. I was born in Pittsburgh, PA, but mostly raised and grew up in SoCal. For many years and many occasions, we would make a trip over to AZ to visit my Grandma (mom's mom) in Sun City. The same route (5 1/2 hrs, back & forth on I-10) which I know so well. Or at least a few times, the quick 1 hr ONT-PHX & PHX-ONT flights.
Later on, we still made trips over here to visit with my Uncle/Aunt/Cousin, or go up to Show Low.
-Now I officially live here in AZ for good. Therefore, I'm sort of a tourist when going back to CA. How ironic, right?
I now live in Mesa, east of Phoenix, AZ. I used to live in Corona (where my dad still lives) and then Lake Elsinore most of my life until early 2018.
-My mom and uncles originally grew up in Mesa. My mom and dad eventually met during college as students of ASU.

The flight from Phoenix to Ontario was the most beautiful scenery ever to me, especially crossing into Cali. Looks like you're on the top of the world literally. One of the best experiences of my life. Made me so very thankful for the awesome gift of eyesight

I flew ATL to ONT via PHX last January. That was my first time at Sky Harbour and I liked my time there. The sunset shots I got as we flew into Ontario were just amazing! Thanks for sharing this video.

I have flown many time to Sky Harbor to visit my parents in Scottsdale from DET (detroit). Last flight return home was Jan 2020. I always would book the window seat if I could. I even remember the seat no. F13 Delta. I prefer the front wing view at the emergency exit door. I've flown SW as well. I like Delta better comfier seats. I haven't flown in over 2 years because of COVID to see my parents. I'm hoping to make the trip again soon. I love going out to the valley. I'm not sure but someday I may live out there. I'll still be true to the Buckeyes. Go Buckeyes! Thanks for sharing you experience. .
