This is about as small as you'd go for a Full Offshore vessel. Lots of smaller boats, but wouldn't necessarily want to be in heavy conditions in them. This one I'd trust completely

Most of offshore boats nowadays only run single engine. Is it a good idea to swap 1 115hp for 2 60hps for some redundancy. Also run 2 separate 60litre fuel tanks . In case . Weight wise 2 engines will be 70kgs heavier. And i guess you will have double service costs. Or is it possible to make transom mount wider to accomodate 10hp engine? I seen in USA lots of people run aux engine with linkage to the main engine. So you can steer aux from main wheel

Depends mate most are single due to space twin engines require more space , twice as much to setup , pretty much double everything which with initial outlay can put a lot of people off. Its also twice as much that can go wrong. Most commercial vessels run twins for the off chance one shuts down but those boats also usually have a lot more money to play with .

Engines nowadays are really reliable and if they have any issues can often go into "safety mode" which still allows you to get home just as lower revs. We often do modifications to transoms of vessels to accommodate twin engines but also for large singles with a small kicker motor for redundancy. A lot of the time it comes down to personal preference and what you may have available to you. As Beatems said below, a fair bit more space is required to go to twins so might be something to consider. Feel free to get in touch and we can chat through your plan!

I do not recommend centre consoles venturing offshore, anyone who has ever been caught in rough seas would agree with me.

Centre cabs are the ideal in between and but not everyone wants a cab . Been in some hairy seas in a center console and really it just is what it is you know what youre getting .

Fished a centre console offshore for years. Not an issue, you just get wet in the rough stuff

All down to personal preference! although the range of centre consoles are really dry offshore vessels some prefer the extra deck space for fishing room over cabin boats. Like anything in the boating its all a balance and finding works best for you and how you use your boat. What did you think of the 6500HTO (Get offshore go) cabin?
