There is a trough over Canada that should, in theory push the Storm out to sea after it passes over Land, it will take a similar route to Franklin once it does that and it will ride that Trough out to sea to eventually die out.

How many hurricane categories are there?
@rebeccamassal5646 Жыл бұрын
Five. Anything over one, which looks to be the case for EVERYONE in the path in Florida, is devastating.

According to Google....Hurricanes are rated on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale, which includes five categories based on the storm's sustained wind speeds. It also estimates possible damage to property, ranging from "some damage" to "catastrophic."

Yes hurricanes are leveled up by wind but problem if it doesn't say how bad the damage it can do even at a cat one than we have storms even stronger than 5 but they haven't did the cat 6 because it will scare people to much
@grizzlycmmg9578 Жыл бұрын
@@rebeccamassal5646 That is just wrong. I am a Florida native, "anything over a 1 is catastrophic" is patently false. Most of what hits us are more than Cat1, anything 3 and above is when things start to get taken seriously here. There are so many people that have said such stupid shit about this, who have NO IDEA what they are talking about, it does nothing but promote mass panics and causes premature depletion of supplies for people who actually need them instead of it all going to the people who will be in 30-40mph Wind Zones. Just plain ignorance.

Quick breakdown for you, Hillsborough/Tampa, relatively safe inland, Coastal areas should evac, anything north, towards the Nature and Gulf Coast, more risk. Panhandle/Northern Gulf Coast area, Evac immediately. South of Hillsborough Tampa, Impacts to be felt but will be approximate TS levels in Severity.

@grizzlycmmg9578 Жыл бұрын
@@naudianeels1328 NHC says Cat 3, however every Floridian who is worth their salt knows that there is a decent chance this Storm can easily strengthen into a Cat4, my comment implied that it wouldn't shock me if it did go to Cat4 because of High Water Temps in our Sea, Low Wind Sheer, ect. Realistically, right now it is very hard to tell exactly what this Storm will do or where it will land, another thing to consider is a Cat4 is no laughing matter and isn't much less of a monster than a Cat5 is. This isn't the type of Storm that people should be throwing Hurricane Parties for if they are on the Gulf/Nature Coast where I am.

@@naudianeels1328 If you are in an Evac zone, leave. If not, prepare the best you can and wait it out, you will be okay. This is not my first rodeo and I have been through this a few times in my 21 years in Florida. If you are not in a direct landfall area, you will get out unscathed relative to the people who are in the direct impact zone. If you are Coastal and close to Surge areas, leave. If not, follow the routine steps in order to prepare. Fills Tubs with water if necessary, as well as washing machines and sinks, eliminate/remove anything that could become Projectile around your property, if you are further south in the Hillsborough/Tampa area, Boarding up is not necessary but is a step you may take if it makes you feel better. ALWAYS have an IFAK or FAK (Individual First Aid Kit/First Aid Kit for more than one individual) ready and prepared in the event of an Injury, these Kits should include Trauma Medical Equipment, Basic First Aid Equipment like adhesive bandage, Gauze, and Burn Bandages, Water Purification Tablets, Antihistamines, ANY medication needed for you or a loved one, Emergency Water Rations, ect. if you do not have one, you can build one out relatively cheap and they are always worth having. And, as always you should get some level of know-how on at least Basic First Aid. You can do this for free on the internet to at least have an idea of how to use this equipment. Prepare to lose power, charge all devices you feel are necessary, optimally you should have a battery powered or hand crank Radio that can be used to Monitor the event as it occurs. If you live on land, secure Livestock, if you live on land and are in a Direct Impact zone, evacuate Livestock such as Horses or Cows. From what I am seeing monitoring Radar sources from the NHC as well as other sources, the first outer band rainfall will be approaching past the Nature Coast and towards the Northern Gul Coast Counties within the next few hours, this Rain Band will bring heavy storms. However, the Radar indicates that the predicted track is lining up to be accurate with a direct hit in the Northern Gulf Coast Counties of Florida, and then turning towards JVille and GA. If you are not in the Direct Impact Zones, do not worry yourself too much, everything will be okay with the worst happenings being downed lines, trees, moderate flooding, no power, ect. If you are in the Direct Impact Zone you need to leave ASAP, as this storm has the potential to be Catastrophic for those areas. God Bless.
