Actually it’s the drummer who truly leads the guitars & basically the entire sound. And while typically drummers are counted out bc they don’t usually do a lot of songwriting, Ashton does, & like Phil Collin’s (a drummer & band leader) he also sings. It appears Luke got thrust into more of a “leader” role later, which is perhaps a bit deserved since he originated the band, but they likely would not be here if they never got Ashton specifically since he kept the other boys on task & helped teach them a good work ethic. I think he is the only one who had another job b4 this too. I think more notice & appreciation needs to go towards Ashton for his major role in the group.
