I want it. However I have an idea about the piece that goes over the back seats. Why not cut the plywood the same width as the back main piece and put low profile hinges on it? This way the whole piece could just be folded back on itself to lift the rear seats up. No lugging the extra piece in and out of the garage. If it's too tall to swing over and back (hitting the ceiling) then maybe do an Accordian style system with multiple hinges. I'm guessing two would be low enough to clear the ceiling. Anyway, beautiful work and great looking system. Need to do something like this soon. Also... Wondering what the extra weight is? Likely negligible if you used pine or Doug fir. But if it is a bit heavy I'm thinking suspension can be adjusted accordingly.

Ya I have thought of the piano hinge style, built one before. Its nice having more width for your shoulders and arms on the bed extension I have found! But ya haven't had to much interest since. Also if you were to flip the bed extension there is the possibility in some that it would not come all the way over because of the ceiling. And if it does flip over and set on the drawer system it would be uneven. But ya anyone can add a piano hinge very easily if they wanted to.

I have 2020 TRD Off Road. I like the system. About how much is one of these? I take the seat bottoms out FYI. Just a few bolts. I also remove the headrests

Quick question, why isn't the drawer part of the system tighter fitting between the wheel wells?

It would require trimming the plastic around the wheel wells which id rather not do in case the customer wants to resell the vehicle or remove the system. Plus the wheel well plastic actually angles back towards the side so it is not square like the box is.

Build is great, but I feel you're losing a major amount of storage and bed space when you're not making the platform flush with the wheel well in order to make it a true double bed. Anyone else in the process of doing this? I just bought a 2006 4Runner Limited and starting to get going on the project.

Solid Wood Worx Great work, the problem for a lot of us is the bed system is too short, it has to clear the rear seats when they are folded down. This causes it to be raised higher. I would be willing to drive up to get something like this done. 🤙🏼

Hey, looks like really clean work. What I found out is that the seat bottoms need to come out to make more room for taller people, like 5'-10". Do you have floor measurements of the rear of the 5G T4R? Specifically, the aft side of it drops down by 3/4" or so?

Bed is nearly 6 ft front to back and there are a few screws in the back of it into a metal frame piece.

I'm looking for something like this. However, in order to add storage I'm thinking about removing the back seat completely and use the cavity for storage (may need this area to closed in). Behind the behind the front seats I would like a platform for a fridge and solar battery.
