If you're nor prepared, you're up against a formidable gym leader. He might be your dad (in the game ) but his Slaking's moves are almost competitive level. Yawn is an annoyance and his Façade , attack is a wild STAB moves

Slaking had a base stat of an amazing 670 and it's not even a pseudo legendary,I consider having Slaking kind of unfair,it's pretty hard to take out,that's why Norman is the only gym leader I lost to,even when I had a Combusken at level 33.

If this is your first time fighting Norman, you may be thinking, "Oh, I'll just cripple the Slaking by giving it Burn, Poison, or Paralysis." To that I say, "That would be a terrible idea." This is because both Slaking have Facade, a base 70 power move that doubles to 140 if the user has one of the aforementioned status conditions. Not only that, but Slaking can use Rest to bring itself back to full health even if Norman runs out of potions. Need I mention Slaking has a base stat total of 670, the same as both Groudon and Kyogre? Although Slaking has a poor Special Defense stat of 65, Normal is only weak to Fighting, and all Fighting type moves are physical. Well, guess what? Slaking has a Physical Defense stat of 100, the same as its Speed stat, and its two best stats are its 150 HP and 160 Physical Attack. Not to mention it has a decent 95 Special Attack stat. If Slaking didn't have Truant, it would be overpowered as hell, and Norman would be borderline impossible to defeat.

he’s already hard i have a level 30 sum marshtomp and he’s not even close to powerful enough and i try leveling up machop but it’s so dragging and he just one shots all my other 20-30 level pokemon

My gowd, level 39?? I've been grinding my pokemon to level 30 and it's tough before passing gym Norman. Pokémon arounds are only around level 15-20ish. Daily grinding do get boring

i always found Norman to be one of the hardest gym leaders. he is much MUCH worse than Whitney based on my experience and im not one of those people who overlevels their starter, but uses a balanced leveled team
