It is important to remember that Makkah, Madinat Annabiy, Jerusalem, and maybe Damascus are the only valid places of pilgrimage in this age, but Islam doesn't allow that to be enforced. There is a different between cemeteries in terms of how secular it is, what view of the sacred was held by those buried there, and how it was used after they died. We connect to the memory, legacy, and energy of those that were, those that are, and those that are to be alive in bodies.
