5th Strong Santa Ana Wind Event of the Season here in the suburbs of Los Angeles in the city of Ontario. Area in Southern California where the weather is ever changing and is unpredictable at times. A High Wind Warning was issued 6pm Sunday night to Tuesday afternoon at 2pm. Winds were much stronger throughout after midnight Sunday with peak wind gusts around 50 mph. This wind event so far has been the strongest November event since the last couple years. Wind velocity was measured between NE 25-35 with NE 27 mph being the most dominant and fastest sustain wind. Highest peak gust was measured at 57.40 mph nearly 60 mph which was forecasted. As you can see in the video, winds were ferociously strong and packed with heavy gusts. Their was reduced visibility at times which timing at 6am with dust in the morning. The air was filled with unhealthy air quality and poor humidity for the entire day and that caused some occasional tree and plant damage and lots of flying debris. Leaves, branches, eta. By no means, was their any real break until the late afternoon, which winds stayed 12 hours strong. Overall, a very fierce windstorm in all. November 20th, 2023

Sometimes, I notice that the air has "cleared up", as if the winds have exhausted the tracts of light soils, that generate dust fronts, and then later, the winds find other tracts, to generate dust.

Greetings from a fellow Californian in NorCal--S.F. Bay Area! As you're likely aware, our offshore windstorms, here up North, are extremely similar to the Santa Anas--the Diablos & the Monos. Here on YT, I'm more or less on a constant search for fantabulous weather, to view, ANYWHERE. And I try and avoid TV news feeds, as they're HEAVILY edited, to avoid upsetting the Snowflakes, amongst their viewership--short on real science, and they may try and instigate civil legal liability--and political and cultural shortcomings. Yet, a lot of times, when I go to Video Pieces, dealing with Tornadoes & Derechos, often I try the Comments Sections, and tell them about what we have out here in California, for comparison's sake. By and large, they tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about. They say that they NEVER heard of the names of the Winds that I'm describing. "C'mon, no winds last THAT long, unless it's a Hurricane!", they'll tell me. They only seem to know about "Tornado/Hurricane Models", as being the ONLY SETUPS, that can generate winds of these velocities. They have problems connecting Santa Ana phenomena, with the conflagratory wildfires, that they inevitably trigger. And, GET THIS, I tell them about the Dusters of the "Dirty Thirties"--"The Dustbowl"--and they either never knew about those before, or say--from what they "know", THAT THOSE never happened! By and large, they can't "wrap their minds", around these. In Oakland, I've been through some Diablos/Monos, powerful enough to blow transformers--power flashes--drop trees, tear off shingles, and break windows, and I know that these may last perhaps, three days running, maybe a few more. Oh, there may be periods during those events, where the speeds may diminish to about 20MPH, gusts of 40MPH, for about 6 hours, but they will ramp right back up to 30MPH, freak gusts up to 70MPH, staying that way, overnight. And sometimes they generate excess static electricity, where you get shocks, that really smart when you touch certain objects.
