Must have been a mistake that he didn’t notice. It is correct that when the negative number in a bracket is met with a minus sign , it is turns positive and the sign changes to a plus sign. I guess he didn’t notice it. But this video was great for me to learn.

You do not put two minus or negatives - only one. If you rearrange and put like terms next to each other, it would be 24y-30+23 or 24y-7.
