I'm not surprised that Kyla ended up with her own vehicle with Flex as both of them stayed working in the 1990s. Even though Cosby took a huge liking to Doug E. Doug from Where I Live, Flex also starred on that as well; Cosby became a consultant on the second and last season of the series. The 1990s paved the way for many black actors and actresses.

Wendell definitely added some great comic relief and had some good character development. I always wondered why he wasn't in the last season. I remember an interview he did on Atlanta radio when he was in town 1998 to promote some movie or play he was in here and the DJ asked him, so what's up with Parent Hood. "Parent Hood will be back but I won't. It wasn't my decision and sometimes everyone has to do what's best for them. Robert Townsend gave me an opportunity and I worked for 3 years and ate good and I appreciate him dearly for it but sometimes those network suits force hands and I will leave it at that. We were supposed to be canceled but some last minute deal got cut. No bad blood and I get the feeling WB will drop the show after this season coming up as its a midseason replacement. You know if one of the new shows flop, Parent Hood can pop up in January or February but my sources told me, Parent Hood will be brought back next summer. That's not a good look for a show that wants to keep going but who knows what the suits got planned, maybe it will be back for the 1999-2000 season, it's their network." -Faizon Love

Yep, another continuity error. The show made several between S3 through S5 with writing goofs such as Gordon's glasses. In S4, when he started dating the nerd, he used to run into things in his effort to be cool now he can see without them. Another error is when Zaria got mad in the 'Deserving Honors' episode about them not viewing the teen mom as a role model, writers forgot she got fired in S4 on the ZTV episode when the producers of the teen talk show got concerned about her being a high school dropout citing its not a good role model look.
