I am thrilled that Cheng Yi has finally got what he deserves. But from what I have learned about him, I don't think he is the type who goes out of his way to gain popularity and/or to be number one. He appears to care more about his dramas being seen by broad audience. He is a true artist at heart. I only got to know about Cheng Yi not long via the mysterious lotus casebook. I started to follow him after I learned more about him, mainly through his interviews and recordings of his live broadcasts. What I found out blew me away. He is such a dedicated professional who seems to love his profession deeply. He is passionate about acting and appears to be willing to do whatever it takes to give justice to all the characters he plays. He seems to be not only a hardworking, unassuming, considerate, respectful, modest, natural and versatile actor with multifaceted talents, but also, most of all, a genuine gentleman with the kindest heart. I wonder if he is an angel coming down to earth. He appears to have so many contradictory qualities at the same time: no flowery speech but his simple words full of wisdom; gentle but with so much inner strength: energetic, quiet and calm; down-to-earth but romantic; manly and boyish; driven but non-competitive; casual, simple but so refined; charming but oblivious of his own charm; mature but with such pure and innocent mind. He is unique and in a class by himself. If there's another one like him, I have not heard of one. I don't recall even a character in the books I read has so many contradictory qualities. Fascinating.
