Hi Mike. Diesal mechanic from Canada here. Watched you guys for years bought 6.0 because of you. I have gone through tremendous loss myself in the last year, your videos keep me alive. Glad to see you making them again. Ps you are my 6.0 hero lol.I think you are one of the most knowledgeable guys on the planet when it comes to these and I have been a tech for over 35 years. My condolences again and PLEASE keep it going. Thank you and keep on rocking in the free world God Bless.

Many years ago, I told Bill through KZbin that 6.0s had lifter failures. He said that at that time, he hadn't seen that failure. I worked for Navistar. I had replaced probably 6 engines due to that failure. It was the needle bearings in the roller going bad. We summed it up to it might be more of a truck/bus issue. Now it seems to be more common.
@justsittinhere725 ай бұрын
Of those engines, did they show any signs of neglect? Lack of oil changes or something else? Run hard or boosted? I have an '06 E 350 but it only has 151k. Maybe a little too early for major problems? I am a stickler about oil changes. Every 5,000 miles. Filters are always OEM, oil and fuel.
@klikliks_service5 ай бұрын
@justsittinhere72 hard to say all in busses or trucks. Probably more to oil changes than anything. Usually, they take out the ipr screen, because of debris.

My first comment ever Mike. Im sorry for your loss. Please keep the videos coming. You're doing an excellent job picking up the torch....
@tylerwightman23155 ай бұрын
My old 7.3 was doing something very similar for about 9 months....intermittent compression skip. Some days it would run totally fine all day, other days it would skip at one light but not the next or on other days it would just stay skipping all day. When it was acting up, I could jump the starter and hear a very noticeable "gallop" in the cranking rhythm. When it wasn't acting up it had a very smooth and even sound when cranking it over. I put 2 cans of seafoam in a fresh oil change and left it in there for the entire 3,500mi change interval. The skip was completely gone after about 1500 miles and is still gone to this day about a year and 25,000+/- miles later. I still can't believe it!!! Never been a believer in snake oils but I had already condemned the engine in my mind and was making plans to rebuild it so I had nothing to loose if it didn't work or messed it up further. Ps....glad to see you keeping Bills legacy alive and well. I'm still heart broken over loosing him. Ive learned so much from his videos over the years!

I'm not a diesel tech but I know a couple of things about diesel engines but your knowledge, skill set, and professionalism is far superior than anything I've seen. An apprentice working under you would be incredibly lucky to have you teach and mold them into a knowledgeable and competent technician. I know you guys don't work on 7.3s anymore but I can't find a reputable, competent shop to diagnose my issue. If you have time, a recommendation from you would be worth its weight in gold.
