Do grouping symbols first, so (7)6 ÷ (7)6 wh means 7×6÷7×6. Then × OR ÷ WHICHEVER COMES 1ST LEFT TO RIGHT, so 42÷7×6 wh is 6×6 = 36. An EXPRESSION shd always give the same simplified answer.

The way this problem is written, the answer is in fact 1. If multiplication signs were used, it would be different.

It looks like you should have distributed 6 first (6+1)6/(6+1)6 to get (36+6)/(36+6) then (42)/(42)=1 don't make it harder than it needs to be
