You cannot say that best fit performs worst in variable size partitioning. For eg. take the process sequence p1, p2, p3, p4 -> 125 ,300, 25 ,50 for above example. In this case best fit performs better than worst fit.

Requests are received of 50k, 250k ,35k, 89k, 70k.. My question is: After allocating all processes to memory what will be the effect of 89k process terminating and returning its memory? After that what will be the total internal and external fragmentation?

So in best fit, the p4 of 50 units is externally fragmented? ; external fragment in the best-fit case is 50? because the total available space is 25+25=50, but not in a contiguous manner. Please reply!
