Great video. I love everything about the 6.5 Weatherby RPM. I just need two things to happen: 1 - I need them to offer it in the Vanguard line so it would be more affordable. 2 - I need for a couple other brass makers to start offering brass for it to bring the price of brass down.

Dang it I wish Weatherby would make the 6.5 RPM accessible to more of the market space. I wish they could have put it in the Vanguard line of rifles. Then again, I wish they would chamber the 270 Wby, 7mm Wby, 224 Wby, and 240 Wby in an affordable rifle! Those are all amazing cartridges and if folks could afford to shoot them they might take off like wildfire in the market space!

Nice to see you guys together. That 340 load is the hunting load I'd go with. I'm convinced the hammers kill much quicker than the barnes bullets with a sample size of about 10 animals in my 6.5x300 and 257wby. Every single one with my 6.5x300 has dropped in its tracks with only one cns hit. I love my 6 lug 6.5rpm, and it likes the hornady load a lot as well.

That’s the thing I don’t know what cartridge I want to start out with. Everybody has their own suggestion. I was leaning toward 6.5 creedmor. I saw the Winchester 270 maple in your video that looks awesome. Budget $1500-$2000.

On the exact opposite end of the 6.5 spectrum, I just sighted in my father’s 6.5 Grendel with 123 SSTs. He’s finally moving down from his 300 wby for deer at 20-100 yards. Got him out in the stand again with a gun he isn’t afraid to shoot. We all come full circle back to kids cartridges eventually.

I would love to see a seven Weatherby magnum with a fast twist barrel pushing 175 to 195 grain BC bullets. I thought the 6.5-300 would be moving a lot faster than it is. I’m sure it’s great but not as good as I thought it would be.

My Father in Law has reloaded his whole life and has used everything. He said Hornady interlocks shoot better than anything but suited perfect for deer and Elk size game.

Love the rifle 😍!!!!! The average person couldn’t justify the cost of it. It’s around $3k stock, not including the trigger upgrade. Plus the cost of ammo and brass for the RPM are pricey! If I had unlimited funds I’d go for it 😎. This makes me feel good about my 6.5 PRC setup. I’m running a Tikka T3X Veil shooting 140 gr Berger’s consistently around 1/2” groups and getting 3075 FPS. My take away. I’m getting better ballistics than guys buying $100 a box factory ammo on their 6.5 RPM. The 6.5 RPM definitely has more potential for reloaders over the PRC. If the initial cost wasn’t so much, I’d definitely explore the RPM!! As always, thanks for the video.

Chronographed yesterday my Bergara 6.5 PRC with Choice ammo 120 grain. 3280 fps.

Those groups look just about like my vanguards in 25-06 and 300 winchester magnum. Last time I took the 25-06, it put shot # 1+3 into the same damn hole and #2 made a sideways #8 I use the Hornady interlock 117grain sitting on top of 50 grains of IMR 4831. The maximum deviation is 8 fps for 5 shots at 3012 fps.

Elevation a tad high? Suckin wind lol. Been shooting my first Weatherby and it is VERY picky. My Savage spoiled me. It’ll moa pretty much anything I throw in it lol. But the Weatherby seems to like 150g ELDX with Staball 6.5. Nice half in groups. Any other bullet so far looks like a scatter gun lol

@@dhooter If it's the traditional Weatherby cartridge with a belt... load it max magazine length and go to town. If it's a RPM cartridge load it close to the lands.

Pretty impressive mechanical accuracy showing. I you'd decide on a load and then actually lose the bench and do some positional field shooting reviews with these. It would be interesting to see how well they work in real world and high angle situations.

@ I was leaning towards the 257 just because I have a 6.5 Grendel and cm and my brother has both the 257 and 25/06 and iv see what it does to deer at any ranges and the fps he gets from his hand loads . Where I hunt at I’ll never shoot over 400 yards . That one reason I sold my 300 win mag but I do love my 6.5s

I was shooting 120 grain Choice ammo in my Bergara 6.5 PRC. 3280 feet per second. Same gun shoots 130 grain terminal ascent at 3150. Yeah the RPM is waaaayyy better than that.

@sepehr8711 yes I know that. Those two facts are pretty low on my priority list. I already mentioned the fact that most people, including myself, care about most. Weatherby isn't going to produce a cartridge that won't sell... because it already exists. A few ounces and 1 extra cartridge isn't going to make ANY sort of dent in 7 PRC sales. That's a product, doomed to failure.
