Why didnt do for joint A?
@samb.7395 Жыл бұрын
Could we solve this with method of joints?
@chubilog624Ай бұрын
wait Im confuse do you use methods of sections or method of joints? and Thank you for lesson
@madison_coleАй бұрын
Since you had to find all the forces in each member, its better to use method of joints, which is what he used here. Method of sections is better when you only need to find the forces in a few members

at joint E I'm getting the same answer for the y component as yours when subtracting 5 (5kn at EA) instead of adding 23 (Ey)

why cant we use the 3 4 5 triangles instead of sin59.04 ??
@EngineersAcademy20202 жыл бұрын
This is not 3 4 5 triangle. CE member length is 5m.

Why is DE in compression? thats the part the confuses me because i always just assume tension but if i get - then its the opposite, is this wrong?
@EngineersAcademy2020 Жыл бұрын
Ur doing it right, always assume tension.
@JT-oz7yn11 ай бұрын
I would say DE is in compression because of the horizontal force of DC, which acts as DCsin(theta) downwards on DE aswell, pushing into point E.
@GamerKumaa9 ай бұрын
FDE is pointing towards D, and we found FDE to be positive in that orientation, so FDE is compressing the joint.
