at joint E I'm getting the same answer for the y component as yours when subtracting 5 (5kn at EA) instead of adding 23 (Ey)

why cant we use the 3 4 5 triangles instead of sin59.04 ??

This is not 3 4 5 triangle. CE member length is 5m.

im still confused why sometimes for Fy use sin and sometimes use cos? what's the difference and can you tell me when I should use sin or cos? thank you

Why is DE in compression? thats the part the confuses me because i always just assume tension but if i get - then its the opposite, is this wrong?

I would say DE is in compression because of the horizontal force of DC, which acts as DCsin(theta) downwards on DE aswell, pushing into point E.

FDE is pointing towards D, and we found FDE to be positive in that orientation, so FDE is compressing the joint.
