That pergola Is literally just a frame and provides no shade for the cars you might leave out in the hot sun.

Not me, but there are people that don't care about cars or garages. A friend of mine has a really big expensive house and has room for 5 cars inside the garage. And way more outside, it's like half. A basketball court space immediately in front of the garage. They own 3 cars. One is a company vehicle, they hardly ever use. And then they each have an s. U v. And I just remembered there with space for a car or 2 for guests near the front door. That's where I park.
