Keep in mind it is pointless to compare one dyno result in one part of the world, on one particular dyno, to another. There are WAY too many variables to do that accurately.

This dyno reads super high. My Golf R's 1/4 mile trap speed at Stage 2 was the same as a stock RS3 and only put down 302awhp on a Mustang dyno (which, to be fair, read hella low) on 91 octane. Guessing that stock RS3 was closer to 350-360ish at the wheels, unless y'all didn't correct for negative DA. Cool vid regardless, though. :)

Probably have watched this video 6 times. Currently between Uni and APR S1+ 93 - with occasional E85 map switching. My guess is they are probably extremely similar maybe Uni lays down a little more torque. The only reason I'm leaning towards APR is because I live in an apartment currently and APR offers on the fly fuel map switching with no flashing required. Would be nice to be able to flash anywhere regardless of if I have internet / cell connection or my laptop with me. On the other hand, Uni has the Uni logger and has promised flex fuel (although it's been like 3 years now and nothing yet)

Thanks for watching! You'd be doing yourself a disservice by going with APR. Don't let a single dyno video sway your decision. You're better off following in the footsteps of 100's of people that have now switched from other tuners to Unitronic and are extremely pleased with a quicker, faster, and overall better driving experience. Please keep in mind that if you plan on going any further with your modifications past Stage 1 that APR no longer supports Stage 2 setups. Also note that Unitronic has the world's best TCU tune and that makes a huge difference in daily drivability. Last point I'll make is I now have personally switched over 50 people from APR to Unitronic and every.... single.... person... has been EXTREMELY happy with their decision.

@@AwC37 I know, that’s why I mentioned the difference in power and torque between stock and staged car they advertise, not the maximum power or torque. I would expect the same difference whether it is wheels or crank results, but I may be wrong. I personally own a TTRS that I recently tuned with Uni Stage 1+ and I can confirm it makes a huge difference considering it’s only a software tune so I’m not complaining, I was just surprised by the numbers and I’m trying to understand.
@VancityAudi
@VancityAudi 4 жыл бұрын
The numbers Unitronic is claiming on their website are 67HP at the crank and 115LB/FT at the crank. The 33hp and 51lb/ft gain we saw on this day was wheel horsepower. So you'd have to add in drivetrain loss to make the comparison. I do agree though that according to this dyno, on this day, we didn't quite see the advertised power numbers. With all of that said, I did this video for the owners to see what they are making on that dyno, on that day. Dyno readings are physically impossible to compare from one car to another, on a different day, in different conditions, with different bolt on's and different fuel sources, not to mention 100 other variables lol. You are always better comparing trap speeds in cars in similar conditions to see what kind of power a car is making

Great video! I love all your stuff. You were the guy that convinced me it was reasonably safe to get my car tuned! I've been running a 93 and 100 octane tune on my 2018 rs3. One question I'm having a hard time finding... What kind of oil dilution do these engines suffer from running e-85? Am I looking at 2k oil changes if I go full bolt-on with stock turbo while running e-85? Is E-85 viable for a "daily" driver that will see 10k or so miles a year? BTW I'm pre-planning for a 2021 RS3, possibly. I've still got other options I'm considering. So what would you all get? I'm considering a 2020 Jag f-type SVR that's been sitting on a lot nearby that I can pretty much steal. I wouldn't mod that though. My next option is a new RS3 with full bolt-ons and tune which I know will kill the SVR performance-wise. I was also thinking of waiting for the new AWD M4. Opinions?
@VancityAudi
@VancityAudi 4 жыл бұрын
100% depends on what you are looking for in a car. The RS3 will epically thrash an SVR in performance. I daily drove my Stage 2 - E85 RS3 for over a year. Worked like a charm. I changed my oil every 6000km when I ran E85 on stage 2.

That's why dyno's are dumb and you can't compare them from one part of the world to another using different parts and tunes. It just doesn't work. This video was made to show the owners what they made on this particular dyno compared to what they thought they were making. Dyno's mean nothing. Get on the track and see what it does for trap speed. That will be your ultimate way of seeing the power you are making.
