After much research and great advice on this channel I took a much more critical look at what would provide the best experience for our entertainment space. I feel like I need to defend the LG C3 (65") here. I was trying to choose between the C3, S90C, or X93L, and I ended up getting the C3. The BIGGEST reason is post-purchase support. I have had a 55" LG CX since it came out, and it has gotten constant updates and been a stellar performer all around. At the same time, I had a Samsung Q90R, and that thing had constant bugs and weird issues (and still does to this day). I do not doubt that the hardware in the S90C is superior, minus the lack of Dolby Vision, but software just isn't Samsung's strong point. That's what led me to get the C3... and I don't regret it one bit. It's a huge upgrade from the CX in all aspects. Brightness, color volume, software... they are all better. So while I understand your opinion here, I don't necessarily agree with it. The C3 is a strong OLED TV, and IMO, the one to get.

So you had issues with the Q90R, and for that reason you think the C3 is better than the S90C? Or???
@madpistol9 ай бұрын
@@asole100 No. I had issues with software support on the Samsung Q90R, so I am wary of the long-term software support of the S90C. The LG C3 gets software updates nearly every week, and any time there's bug, it gets fixed super quickly. LG supports their products very well.

YOU ARE RIGHT - it's a quality of life choice but that's even more subjective and anecdotal. That's why I don't blame buyers for being loyal to a brand that has taken care of them - it's not always about the "best" picture quality right?
@madpistol9 ай бұрын
@@stopthefomo picture quality is important, but there is always intangibles to consider. People thought I was insane when I went from a Samsung Galaxy S8+ to an iPhone XR. The iPhone XR is inferior in nearly every way, specs wise… but I kept it for 3 years before upgrading because it was such an outstanding package of software, smoothness, and battery life. It gave it legs that the Galaxy S8+ simply did not have. Products are not always about specs. Sometimes the better products are the ones with the strongest software and support.

What none of these reviewers tell you, is just how bad the QM8 is at upscaling normal content (news channels etc.). The QM8 85" is superb for HDR, but the rest is horrific. Because of this, the QM8 becomes worthless. I now have an XL90 85" and it's by far the best tv for the price if you do not mind a little blooming. The clarity of lower bit-rate content (Sling for example) is incredible. HDR is good. The other alternative would be an 85" S89C, but then, you start having severe guilt-trips while watching news channels; for fear that the static logos will "slow-roast" into the panel. The best of all worlds would be the 85" X95L but this TV is not readily available in retailer stores and it's more expensive.

What is the best 75" TV for use as a PC Monitor?
@hpaula19468 ай бұрын
I just found your channel and subscribed -- great content presentation! I just purchased a Samsung 65" QN90C, and I'm pretty happy with it, except that I have my latest edition TIVO Edge that the Samsung sometimes cannot find, and I have to restart the TIVO box in order for it to be found. It doesn't happen regularly, but often enough for me to want to return it. I was considering the 65" (maximum size to fit my area) Sony A80L, which is similarly priced, but it's an OLED, which I was afraid to get because of the possible, though unlikely, burn in, and hoping that my Samsung issues with my TIVO might go away. I'm also a bit concerned, as it has only 2 HDMI 2.1 inputs, and one of them is the eArc, which I assume I should use with my Sonos sound bar, which I like. I really would like 2 free HDMI 2.1 inputs for my Apple TV box, as well as my TIVO, and the occasional blu-ray disk. (I also considered the Samsung S90C, but I'm afraid that it may have the same TIVO connection issues) Any comments or observations would be very much appreciated, as I'm within the 90 day return window for my Samsung.

@asole1009 ай бұрын
Lower gamma to -2, and change black level to 47 any lower, and you get black crushing. set Adv. contrast to high, and Black Adjust to low or high (sometimes black adjust on high, and medium replaces small green areas with grey however low doesn't.) I own the X90L too btw. Also don't forget to adjust reality ceeation because it helps with clearness allot.

Are there any there that you think should be avoided or that you think are desirable? Also, I am pretty thrilled with the results so far but have noticed on some content that includes views of the ocean, the blue seems a bit off toward blue green. Have you experienced this or have any thoughts on how I might adjust blues? Thanks!
@asole1008 ай бұрын
@@stevenbarta6638 Good to hear!!! I haven't noticed anything with blue. (I used my OLED monitor on it's most accurate setting to help me adjust too) I did have to adjust red, and magenta due to live color on "High" giving us too much of those colors. However if you think there is a problem I would recommend messing with the saturation levels, and hues under "Adv. color adjustment" in "Per color adjustment" then switching from left to right to pick which color you want to alter. However Dolby Vision disables live color but in return we're able to raise saturation levels higher in both "Color", and "Per Color adjustment". (that is if you like vibrant colors) However if you're watching something that doesn't use Dolby Vision I would recommend always trying to change the color space to DCI vs. leaving it on auto. (Dolby Vision also uses DCI anyways)

Not sure S90C should take best gaming TV when RTINGS burn in tests show it is far more susceptible to burn in than traditional WOLED or even the newer S95C.
@madpistol9 ай бұрын
Agreed. LG OLED TVs have amazing gaming chops, and the risk of burn-in is much lower.
@stopthefomo9 ай бұрын
that's a different issue - RTINGS longevity test does NOT reflect real world usage (as has been stated by many) and keep in mind that WOLED TVs outright failed as well so what does that mean? Getting an LCD TV is even worse as a few of those similarly failed outright. Ultimately, I can only award based on image quality performance while burn-in risk just means buying the S90C at Costco for the 5 yr warranty or from BB with the Total Tech warranty
@KryssN19 ай бұрын
Depends if it has gen 2 or gen 1 panel, even some 65 come with gen 2 panel. The s95c has less burn in after 3600h (barrels noticeable), than a G3 after 2400h (noticeable). C3 cannot be compared to gen 2 S90C, cause it’s almost only half a a bright.

The Hisense, U8 series, 100 inch TV, is a game-changer for me. So much so, that I've changed our new-build house. The planned cinema room, with a front projector, has been abandoned. The windowless room has had windows re-installed & turned into a large bedroom. Our Samsung 82 inch is going to be removed from the TV room, & a TV in the 100 - 110 inch, class, will take it's place. Everyone is happy - the wife gains an extra spare bedroom - it's a bungalow - and i save a small fortune, compared to a projector based system. 🙂
@asole1009 ай бұрын
All of that sounds expensive which is why i actually find it funny that you're aiming to save money while not saving it at the same time if that makes sense? (This isn't meant as an insult btw)
@lucee22619 ай бұрын
@@asole100 - no insult taken. It's quite simple really. The planned cinema room was budgeted to be around the $20k mark. That would have included the Projector, screen, Sound system & furniture. Installing the room with a large bed, & windows, only cost around $2.5k. Our new TV in the 100 inch plus class - when i finally buy one, will replace our 82 inch TV in our existing TV room - no need to buy any more equipment. The 82 inch TV will go in the new bedroom. In summary - $7k instead of $20k. A smaller screen than planned, 100 - 110 inch, instead of a 130 inch Projector screen, but all things considered, a much cheaper & more practical solution; not to mention, much better picture quality. These new massive, affordable, screen sizes, are going to change people's concept - they'll be popping-up in pubs & bars everywhere, and i want one! 😃👌

I had that issue myself that MY SONOS wireless speaker,,would NOT connect to WIFI directly …..(wifi play give the BEST quality sound vs blue tooth) in my other apartment, vs HOME. Super annoying. So hope this can help u rule it out. Also maybe speak at “ look for ….show on NETFLIX” something like that…it might make it easier to search? I do NOT like X80L AT ALL since it’s like SUPER BLUE Tinted. All white snow at night is BLUE, black n white image in black, the white is blue, all colors look dark pestle dense tint on it. N it’s just too dim, too blue, too pestle ….But some ppl Like it. I d Grab Hisene U8K or Samsung S90C any day over that A80L cuz it’s JSUT TOO BLUE , black crushing.
