Recently started pure T3 and I have to say it feels so much better than T4. The main difference is how I feel mentally as now I feel such a calmness that I never felt before which I presume is what most people feel all the time. It’s not perfect just yet and I think I probably need some more T4 as well but if I had to choose I’d choose T3 over anything else especially NDT which only made me worse.

I have the faulty DI02 gene so have to take T3 only. It was a vast improvement from T4 but still had symptoms. But changing from tablets to capsules has been a game changer for me. All my myxoedema symptoms have resolved. I've had swollen legs for 20 years, but now they are skinny again. It feels like a miracle. I totally agree that fad diets are a bad idea if you have hypothyroidism. Just need to cook from scratch, only pure food and intermittent fasting. 🙏🙏

I've noticed I'm sensitive to generic T3 manufactures as well That's just me tho I'm extremely sensitive and honestly I think many brand name offer coupons so it's not very expensive. Or good rx or something. For me it's been a constant adjustment over the years. testing levels, adjusting either T4 or T3. I've went up on my T3 recently and now heading back in optimal zones Basically I've just found a balance between what my optimal T4 and T3 doses are by testing and adjusting and lifestyle changes, activity etc Having a good doc that will oder a full thyroid panel and constant or like quarterly testing will help u see where u are headed Hope that helped lol

Hello, Dr. Childs, I’m hoping you’ll read this. I’ve got a theory because of what I learned from you. The part about low T3 being caused by illness, couldn’t that go hand-in-hand with the reverse T3 being created because the body has got some kind of illness or issue so the T3 put the brakes on the body so it can heal whatever’s going on. At least that’s how I look at the reverse T3. It’s the bodies on mechanism for decreasing metabolism so the person will slow down and heal. What say you?

Excessive exercise is stress and affects your thyroid. Walking or mild weights works just as well and doesn’t stress your body. Going all out is the worse thing that could be done. Give it a rest. Just keep moving.

Very often too much T3 is taken. It’s powerful. Too much and I felt like that. I stopped a few days and felt better so now I’m starting very low. Like 3 mcg or less then work up to another dose for a while then later another one. You need time between raising doses. And time each day between doses. T3 does not accumulate in the body like t4. Lasts about 3 to 4 hours.

Your doctor is a quack! If you eat or take supplements that support body functions, why would you need meds? He is definitely a big pharma doctor. Find a homeopathic practioner who helps the body and doesn't keep you on medications that kill the body! I'm 63 and don't do more than I have to with conventional doctors. Tired of their know it all, know nothing closed minded attitudes. I have read JAMA... And brought up findings from doctors magazines to be told that isn't true because I was the one who told the doctor instead of him/her reading the article themselves. They hate being corrected or told no. They don't like when you speak their jargon either, you know too much! Doctors aren't God's and don't treat them as the only beings that can fix your issues. Fix your diet! Take responsibility for what you are eating and drinking. Do your own research on foods and supplements. Take control of yourself instead of giving your body and health over to doctors.
