If you look deep you will find out that's really not true at all. Yes, he wanted the ball, like all good WRs do, though for him it was because he believed if he got the ball enough they would win....which, well is kind of true. He's easily one of the most misunderstood players. His antics weren't because he was selfish, though he definitely just wanted to be loved, but because he firmly believed his job as a football player was to entertain. Like he said, "They payed $75 to be here, I'll make sure they get their money's worth." If you ignore the BS way the media portrayed him you'll see he genuinely cares about people, there are tons of stories about how selfless he could truly be. One story about how he saw a group of really poor looking kids walking home and picked them up and took them to the mall to buy them new clothes and shoes and stuff, and the only thing he asked was that they didn't tell ANYONE but their mothers because he didn't want the media to find out (which they still did of course) because he didn't do it for recognition, but there are many other similar stories. When talking about why he kept his antics up through all the fines he said it was because the NFL could never understand that he didn't care about money, be played football because he loved it more than anything else in the world. He didn't care about the money they kept taking because he just wanted to play football and entertain people. Most people that have met and got to know him all say in real life he's nothing like you would expect, that he's just a straight up good dude. Even when he got arrested, he never made excuses. He said the reason he had to show people love was because when he headbutted her he stopped loving for 3 seconds of his life and it cost him everything. He's really nothing like people think.
