I do have both. They are both very similar in some ways. I have taken both out to 1200 yards on targets only. I am running 85.5gr in the 22 and 107gr in the 6mm. I agree on the larger game the 6mm is probably a better choice. Both are great and fun cartilages.

BC doesn't matter inside 500yrd.... the differences that should matter to a shooter, is like you said in the beginning,what are you shooting at. What gr bullets do you want to shoot and what energy do you need.
@JLG098721 Жыл бұрын
BC does matter depending on how much wind you're shooting in. But it isn't the most important figure

Would you consider doing a 12 min talk on 243 vs 6mm creedmor vs 6mm ARC? Thank you

I’ll put it on the list . Thanks for watching.

6mm ARC was an odd bolt face so got canned from my considerations... 6BR and 6Dasher were next... Dasher was my fave till I learned of loading probs for short round. 6CM I got but not fancied in the PRS circles, I made a trainer. Now I am building 6GT. All these 6's are shooting what 105 or 107?! So how much difference is there really?! I want to shoot 2920 to 2950.... I see so many competition shooters in this node from wee ones to magnums. I don't want barrel burners shooting 3500 like 22-250 and Nosler.

Never considered a 243...If hunting I would. Old, neck angle looks wrong.... would it fire these high BC bullets? Probably not. Name a cartridge in the last 15yrs not 30 degrees?

I only shoot factory ammo, I hunt coyotes, pigs, bobcats, deer, etc. and I chose 6 Creedmoor. More factory load availability was my main criteria for going with the 6.

Brother if you decide to start reloading that’s when it starts to shine.
@texlee16407 ай бұрын
@@paulmeek7964 I understand but I sold my Dillon, I have no desire or time to reload. Factory match ammo is good enough for my needs.

Nice talk lads. I was going to build a 22 creed but ended up going 22x47 lapua and im shooting 85.5gr bergers at 3296fps with 38.6gr 4350

Quick question. How many different pieces does that 38.6gr come out of your barrel in?
@bradleytyrrell44172 ай бұрын
@colemeyer hahahahaha burns it all and I have no pressure issues. I have pressure at 3330fps if you where wondering

Such a great answer and common sense too. A big factor for me choosing caliber was recoil as I don't shoot as often as I would like. Neither of the subjects have a heap of felt recoil but it's always worth considering when it comes to shot placement.

yeah sure, Im going to choose my best hunting round based on recoil ... dummy

I think another question is what other rifles do you have? You have one of the 6.5s? Then what is the 6 doing for you? That would be an argument in favor of the 22. Here’s my question, when is 22 CM going to get the SAAMI stamp of approval? Sounds like that’s coming but is it this year, next year, 5 years from now?

What kind of velocity do you get with the 75gr from the 22 creedmoor?
@rdsii6411 ай бұрын
I don't shoot either. I shoot a 308 with the 155 grain ELD for everything from coyotes to black bear. I live east of the Mississippi so shots over 200 are rare and over 300 doesn't happen where I hunt. Here in eastern NC we only shoot coyotes for pest control. They aren't worth skinning so pelt damage isn't an issue.

Best answer EVER, mic drop! I’m going to apply this to the 308 vs 6.5 CM argument, get both.

the 22 creed is the way to go for bc and longer shooting - it is the new kid on the block - drop when you go out further adds up quickly - you get a couple hundred yards effective, effectively

Especially a 6mm 115 Berger moving 3k and accurately out to 600. I wanted a 22 creed and as a reloaded it’s perfect because you buy a 6.5 creedmoor bushing die and get the bushing for both and then it’s either a barrel swap or 2 rifles. You know of course bullets and brass but I mean h4350 for both and same primers. I like the 22 creedmoor because bullets are cheaper and means more shooting but then there’s barrel life so he hit it on the head. Just get both and shoot them!

6mm probably. less overbore.
@douglash.88627 ай бұрын
The 6 XC is even better than, the 6 Creed for, Barrel Life at, 100 FPS slower and 3 grains of Powder, LESS for the xc,.. but SEVERAL Hundred Rounds of Extra Barrel Life !
@douglash.88627 ай бұрын
For accuracy and Bullet "Drift", PAST, 4-500 Yds, the 6mm's Bullet, 105 to 109 grain's, ARE,.. Awesome !

22 creed, or 6.5 creed. 6.5 is cheap and gives plenty of selection for deer and hogs. 22 creed is more of a 22-250 improved. would you take deer? you could, but it aint the greatest for it.

For .224 varmint hunting bolt action 22-250 with 55-60gr is practical. If AR10 go with 22 creed because of straighter case taper stacking better in mags

I have yet to see anyone shoot 6 creed factory ammo into sub 1/2 moa groups. Is it not just inherently as accurate as 6.5cm or are all these youtube shooters just trash?
@msquared96057 ай бұрын
Sub half minute is a tall order for any factory loading even in a match grade rifle, let alone sub half minute being a fairly tough challenge for even the best shooters
@RockinRack7 ай бұрын
@msquared9605 I agree but I have only bought 3 bolt action 6.5 creeds and they all do it. That's what sold me on the caliber as a target round. It takes a lot of time and money to get my 308s shooting 1/2 moa and I can do it with the 6.5 cm with a 28$ box of hornady. I was hoping 6cm would do the same magic trick but haven't seen it yet. Seems like the 6mm round just wants to be ran a little slower like in the 6 dasher, 6BR etc. All known for being very accurate and easy to load but a little slower. The 6.5cm is about the same velocity in a heavier bullet so maybe that 2650-2750 area is a sweet spot in general. Got a 300prc recently and it stacks em 1/2moa too with cheap ammo. 7prc and even 6.5prc have shown similar results by reviews but not the 6cm
