What a wonderful teacher who is so delightful to listen to. This lesson on pedalling contained so much information, all explained so clearly, and including some points that I had been completely confused about. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing all these pedalling techniques with us. I was particularly happy to learn how to make the Mozart K545 sound better. I've always found the Alberti bass a bit dry. Never thought of finger pedal 🤪. Side note : I very much enjoy the presentation and pace of your videos 🙂

KZbin knew my pedal technique is trash and recommended this to me. Thank you ❤

I’m sure it isn’t trash! Pedaling isn’t easy and most pianists don’t get lessons on it. Thank you for your comment! 🫶🏻

Just saw the mention of the University of Utah in this video. That’s where I went, and I live local. I just recently started taking piano (after 20 years of wanting to start) and now I’m trying to fast track it so I can play some songs for my daughter who is a singer. I just recently found this channel and really like the way you guys methodically teach. Do you guys teach locally? Are you taking on new students?

Thanks so much for the nice comment! We both teach privately but are usually overbooked. Heather is in California and I’m in the North Salt Lake area. Our contact info is in the about section of our channel.

@@Phaseish Yes you really need an acoustic piano for some of these techniques. But you can definitely apply some with a keyboard!

Thank you so much for this video. I just found your channel and have learned so much. I used to work at the U. I’m trying to get back to playing the piano after many years. My grandmother taught me when I was in my early teens. I’m very grateful because my parents would not have been able to afford lessons but she was not good with a pedal and I as a result am not good with a pedal. I had no idea that there was anything but a full pedal. I really appreciate the demonstrations especially the last Mozart piece. I was working on it and couldn’t figure out how to make things sound smoother. I may have to try to pick it up again.

Thank you for the light overview of pedal techniques with examples. However, It was not very clear what is the difference in the way we use the foot for each technique except Full pedal. Especially for the Flutter pedaling. Finger pedaling we wish would be showing closer in the camera. Seems this video is made for advanced pianists only. The rest of us it looks like we must skip this channel. We hope to hear more detailed information about the other two pedals as well. Maybe in the next videos. Thank you.

Thank you so much for the feedback. We are a fairly new channel and we are still learning what people are needing. This video was for more advanced pianists but we do have videos on our channel that will benefit beginning-intermediate pianists.
