Making...1) Crab/fish pot. 2) Fire Pump Drill. 3) Kite. 4) Tree Glue. 5) Lure. 6) Cordage. 7) Raft & Sail. have been looking forward to doing this one for a long time. Late stoneage technology was still advanced enough for cultures not just to survive and but to actually thrive. It's engineering and art combined with ingenuity. This is the most impressive and genuine survival clip on KZbin.

Mr. Clay... Crazy crafting skills you have. I actually got stuned with the auto-drilling method to make fire... I mean I know other methods and watched other people follow the principle, but you took it way further, and I mean not just the drill... The basket, the raft, the glue, every tiny peace you crafted you did it with so much care and quality. Really impressed by you sir, respect.

@@ClayTallStories Thank you the interessting video. But on 17:23 you are wrong. Horse Hoof Fungus is not Chaga. It is also known as Tinder Fungus. But Chaga is something completly different. Chaga grows in cold climate zones and not only looks very different, it grows different and is not usefull for making fire. It is a very healthy fungus tho. Also Tinder Fungus is quite healthy, bc it is anti-inflammatory and therefore usable for tea making.

Just to let foreigners know, the passion fruit, figs and peaches, gooseberries, walnuts, and others are not native plants, these are plants that have gone wild out of someones homestead. New Zealand had VERY few fruit or vegetable native plants, before Europeans brought things from overseas. And what we did have, modern people wouldn't recognise as viable food, they are nothing like modern fruit. And most of what we did have needed a LOT of careful preparation to take poisons out of it. The Kawakawa berry he ate to begin with, five would give you strong stomach cramps and the runs, 20 would give you CRIPPLING pain.

Cost of all that: 0$. Just a stone and some wood is all... and a sane brain, that most valuable tool of all. Invaluable. And of course a lot of patience to use those extremely basic tools to build better tools and utilities.... He's showing us how "simple" it actually is. Not one to ever comment, but Clay, you're a champion bud! Quintessential Kiwi, but more importantly.....you're real! I truly appreciate the efforts you put into your videos, and again, being real with what you have to say and put out there. It goes a long way for me personally, and I'm sure you're having the same impact on other viewers. Much love

This is actually really great to learn from I have been on and off learning about survivalism for years and some of the stuff I have learnt from this video alone is really handy so Thanks. I like how you are using the Chaga many of our hunter gatherer ancestors use to carry it around with them in pouches with embers burning to keep fires going if you didn't know that already!

Cheers, Clay! Amazing mission you got for yourself... Not only for the adventure itself, but for reaching this whole to our hearts! from tips, knowledge, advices... the music and love you put in it! Amazing music. I would really like to join you one day, as an adult apprentice, I really would. I need this, I am not made for living on a city but I've learnt to do so. On my 25 years I had discovered that I need to be one with nature, that I need to travel... so it is what I am working on wherever I can. Big hug from a city of Argentina.

Absolutely fantastic crafting skill sir! Would love to hear some more info on how you make some things, but I understand you don't have time filming in detail and explaining while crafting. Just an absolute joy to watch.
