Regarding stamina recovery, could it be that together with the immediate stamina gained from an energy drink, it also boosts recovery for a while after drinking it? Also, the bandits spawning at the dark valley base when they weren't there before is just one of the issues people have be having with the SpawnDirector they put in place of the A-Life system. Hope that it is just a place holder until future patches and not what they envisioned as "A-Life 2". But I guess you can always "head canon" that the gang migrated there recently.

18:31 they spawned in the hence why they were equipping their weapons when you saw them because you ran past that location already. Roughly when you reloading your pistol after the smart rats. But also looks like a mission script. The other video where you were trying to get into the house the Boars spawned on you, then another spawn happened where more boars spawned fighting stalkers event spawned.
