thats an impressive ride, looks responsive, and moves well. Great job.

Would you be willing to share your base dimensions? I will be building the same 500mm travel version. Nice job on the build.

Can you tell me how high your ceilings are? Considering such a build but don't want to literally run into problems lol!
@Noonz2311 Жыл бұрын
It's standard roof height. Also you can lower the stroke in software to suit any ceiling height

Hi thanks for your video upload. May i ask, now that you have had this for 8months, is it still in your opminion superior to the SFX150? Are there any downsides... ie less road texture, werid movements, less distinct "4 wheels on the ground feeling", ie when riding over rumbel strips logic would have it that the SFX150 would provide better impression of each corner of the car going over rumbles? I am keen to build a departed reailty. Also whats the typical wattage to draws? I believe it in the 450watts? Ive also yours look a lot different from the on on departed reality youtube, yours looks a lot cooler tbh. Do you have plans of yours on discord or any forums?

Hi mate. After time spent im very happy with my decision. I have since learn enough to dial in my motion to exactly how I like. This video was produced when I first put the rig together. Now its dialled in with road texture suspension travel to how I perceive it would feel and in no way less distinct compared to sfx-150 Flypt mover has been unreal once you get the hang of it. Far more refined tuning than srs IMO. In terms of downsides the only thing I could think of is slightly more power draw with the 2 extra motors and longer stroke. Thats pretty much it. Im very happy I went this route and will be keeping this rig for a long time. Join departed reality discord page. He has all the dimensions for bottom base and us very helpful in getting u to the finish line. as far as my top frame its copied of peacemaker motion and I just did it of his photos in xsimulator.com to suit my height and build. It has plenty of margin as all dimensions are entered in flypt mover so build it to you like

Also on the plus side compare to sfx-150. Due to the extra stroke on tracks with alot of elevation like Bathurst and nordscliefe you can feel the elevation change. The surge is similar to having a surge platform. These bring the motion to a level the sfx can't produce. You can add surge and tc loss to sfx but the motion is nowhere near as smooth. And this also doubles as a very capable flight simulator

@@Noonz2311 Thank you so much for replying so fast. IWas i not expecting a reply at all as the video is 8 months old. So happy you love it as it must have taken a long time to complete. Ill join the discord. I love flight sims, this sounds exactly like what im looking for. You have sealed the decision im going to make and will do your build :D

I've been going back and forth between the videos on dof reailty channel and yours and I notice your one looks "chunkier" (love that look, looks more serious) It is because its a 500mm stroke while the official video is 600mm stroke, or it is just your lower camera angle? I know your base is your own design and I love it.

Interesting vid - especially as I'm considering an SFX150 right now - but seem a couple of 6dof's similar to this one - borderline how much extra is it to for a setup similarish to this? (not inc the screens etc)
@Noonz23112 жыл бұрын
Close to double in price but you get double the fun with superior racing simulation and it doubles as the ultimate flying simulator

I see you had/have a SFX150. What is the difference and experience using the 6DOF departed Reality vs the SFX150?
@Noonz23112 жыл бұрын
Massive difference. 6dof feels much smoother and natural but it's not fair cos one is 6 dof and the other is 3. Also the added travel the sfx cant compete when it comes to yaw pitch and surge

You have a cool motion device and than you play on a lousy triple monitor setup, instead of a VR Headset? That doesnt make any sense, if you want immersion

Yeah you are right, centrifugal acceleration on curves is simulated through leaning to the outside of the curve, not the opposite.
@Noonz23112 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your input but sway is correct as when I turn the wheel to the right it pushes me to the outside. To my left. Probably bit hard to see. Much more pronounced when racing formula cars
