Another cute one is McCalls 6017. I’ve made 4 so far and I just think it is so stinkin’ cute. I did have to add pockets, but that was easy peasy. I have also done 3 of the Simplicity pattern you showed in various sizes and I really like how they turned out. Also for something a bit different this year I made a couple of McCalls M7798. great job on your dresses, they all look adorable and will put a smile on a little girl’s face.

Oh M6017 is a cute one! I really like the gathered strap option. I might have to pick up next time there’s a sale. Thank you for all of the sewing you’re doing for this project!! You’re awesome 🤗

Your dresses are absolutely adorable. I am not able to participate this year, but I will definitely be participating next year. I love the McCall's pattern with the ties. Beautiful

Thank you for watching and commenting! Even if you can’t sew this year, engaging with the content is a great way to help get the word out and help our videos be seen by people who haven’t heard of PDAG.

No worries if you can’t participate with Mari’s great project this year. All the Dress a Girl ambassadors accept and distribute dresses year round so that is another option.

Thank you for the variety! I'm happy to purchase (on sale) a few more bkz I'm not thrilled with the same thing over and over😅
@ErinSews2 ай бұрын
Not a problem! I also discovered that as easy as it sounds to do the same pattern over and over, it just isn’t fun for me. Variety is necessary

I love your compilation videos! It’s definitely good to have so much info in one place, and I’m sure this video is infinitely helpful to those sewing for Project Dress a Girl!

Thanks Lara! They can be a lot of work but I think it’s helpful to have a good chunk of info in one place

I really appreciate the comprehensive reviews on the patterns you used and the dresses you made as inspiration. Knowing which pattern to use is really the beginning of the process so this was a really good way help others be inspired to sew for Project Dress A Girl. I like your idea of sewing though out the year. Sometimes creativity needs mental percolating time especially for those of us who do not excel in print matching.
@ErinSews2 ай бұрын
I totally agree Nadine. The restrictions make a ton of sense but I know I was worried about making the wrong type of dress last year. I know that a lot of people highlight how creative you can be with these dresses, but I also struggled with finding coordinating fabrics or adding trims. I really appreciate that some of these patterns give you the placement lines and instructions to add those things in.

Hi Erin, thank you for the shout out😁. Thank you for another great video. So nice to see different patterns. I have been looking to S2241, but my Joann's doesn't have it. All your fabrics are so pretty😍😍.
@ErinSews2 ай бұрын
Of course! You made some awesome little dresses. I ordered S2241 from simplicity.com. I don’t remember what year it’s from but it might be old enough that it’s not really in stores any more. I hope you can find it at some point because it’s got some fun options

Last year I made five of the pop-over dresses & three so far this year with five cut out. This time I’m choosing to make the largest size for a twelve year old, as they don’t get so many of these. Some will be reversible & others I’ve lined. Thank you for some great ideas re patterns & love the dresses you made. The last dress is so cute. Thank you.😊

That’s awesome! Thank you for making so many dresses for this project! I do feel like the bigger sizes don’t get made as much so I know they’ll be very appreciated.

I love the idea of the reversible dress. I have never made one before. I was thinking about doing the largest size myself, but can't participate this year. Hopefully I can get a start in October for next year.

Thanks Erin! Very helpful video. I’m loving sewing for my 3 little granddaughters… and they have been great fit models for my PJAG dresses. I like the elastic bands in the back of the last dress, might help with fitting all size girls.
@ErinSews2 ай бұрын
That’s wonderful! It’s so fun that you have little fit models right there. Yes I really like that the Little Lizard King pattern has a more fitted bodice but has stretch in it with the elastic. It definitely has a different look than the other patterns.

I was so happy to see you call to our attention some patterns other than the ones that have been talked about every year since Mari started the challenge
@ErinSews2 ай бұрын
The requirements for the dresses mean that a lot of them end up looking the same, so I was really happy to find some different options! Plus I think that the focus can sometimes fall on how fast and easy a pattern is (for all patterns, not just PDAG) but these are supposed to be dresses that make girls feel special. I started trying to find patterns that felt more like something I’d make my own daughter for special occasions, and it turns out I succeeded! Happy sewing 🤗
