But I disagree. 4minute is overall more successful. They debuted as a top girl group reaching number 1 debut year. And continued to release number 1 hits until the last 2 mismanaged comebacks that lead to their disbandment. They also have a bigger international fanbase except japan and kim hyuna is the most well known member of either 2 groups.

1/2 To all people talking about disbandment, SM Entertainment groups do not disband. Yes, they don't. However, it does not stop their idol to leave the company individually like: SNSD: Jessica Jung EXO: Kris, Tao, Luhan, (Lay is just an inactive member) Super Junior: Han Geng, Kangin and Kibum f(x): Krystal Jung and Sulli After the success they had as K-pop group idols, they will then shift to their solo careers (which already happened to all SUJU, SNSD, EXO members and ShiNee's Taemin). This usually happens when they are on hiatus but for the case of EXO, they started their solo careers as early as their 2nd year upon debut like Chen who sang the OST of It's Okay That's Love, Baekhyun and Suho hosting duties, etc. When their contract will expire, it's up to the members if they will renew their contracts or no. But disbandment is not a thing, it's just hiatus. SJ is already on their 16th year this 2021, SNSD on their 14th year, ShiNee's 13th year and EXO's 9th year. Comebacks usually happen in 2 years and SMTOWN concerts which is the best idea among all the K-pop companies ever had (SM's K-pop groups are powerhouse if you know what I mean, that's why they are able to pull that one huge concert of all the biggest K-pop artists). Among all the Big 3, JYP and YG groups disband even though you are as huge as 2ne1 or Wonder Girls. For JYP, Miss A, 2PM, and recently Got 7 disbanded and I think years 2021 to 2022 are the most critical years for Twice since they debuted in 2015 (remember that there's a 7-year contract in K-pop) we know what happened to Wonder Girls. Same for YG, I think Big Bang is the only one who has not yet disbanded among the pioneer K-pop groups in the company, so 2022 and 2023 are most critical years for BlackPink and iKon. As for other companies, they have the bigger chances to disband their K-pop groups even young K-pop groups like Gugudan, I. O. I., and Wannaone. In the case of Big Hit, we all know that their ultimate money maker is only BTS while TXT is still a young K-pop group. So it would also depend on how much they will earn enough to be able to produce another K-pop group in the future. This company also has a lot of joint contracts with other companies like Pledis Entertainment and before with JYP. They also have few artists as of this moment even though they have released TXT in 2019. So we still don't know how far this company can go especially without BTS, so I personally think that they will maximize their profits as long as BTS is still active in the company. The most questionable part here is what is gonna happen if BTS members will serve their military enlistment. That's we have to find out.

I feel so sorry for Bom. The "drug scandal" she was suspended for was: she brang legal medicine to an airport and didn't had the paper from the doctor, that she needs this medicine and is allowed to transport them from country to country. My colleague had such a "drug scandal" too when he travelled to USA and forget that paper. But he didn't loose his job and got a public punishment for it, just asked his doctor to fax the paper to the Airport. 😑😑😑

No matter how popular a group is, they wont last forever..why? 1st, an excellent member would aim to grow further thus resulting to leaving so as to widely spread the wings. 2nd, some members feel privacy is more important and just want to live a normal and peaceful life away from controversy.
