Rick, Whole series has been one of the best presentations that I have watched on u tube on anything needing to be explained. I am a new user in Fldigi and now thanks to your videos, i hopefully will be able to use it properly. Still have many ???'s on Fldigi but only way to get answers is to just get in and play with it. Excellent! This is an excellent review of FLAMP. I think this will really help me out as I listen into the local "after the net practice" as I try to hone my skills in order to be able to participate in practice and emergency operations. KC3CKQ

Part of a national group who uses FLDIGI and FLAMP for messaging, who link to your videos. Are there finer points to the configuration to capture more blocks in FLAMP? Only once have I received a full message. I installed a different antenna and still having issues. Sometimes I don't get a single block, so it seems something is setup wrong. Someone said the edges were important? I don't know what that means. Any help would be appreciated.

Think we both need some one to do a video on it Laurence! LOL I have never used it. It appears to be a file xfer with texting program. What makes it different from Flamp is that it uses ARQ (automatic repeating request) to a single, specific station. (Flmsg has an ARQ ability too.) The best way to get a feel for it (like all the other things in the Fldigi/NBEMS world) is to set up a "practice station" with 2 PCs. See my video on that. Then you can play around with it to see how it works. 73, Rick de K4REF

For some reason, sending works nicely ... and also the text is recieved as the protocol sends it ... however flamp does not trigger on the recieved data -- what could be wrong. Thanks a lot, dear mate!

you do already have flamp open and running with fldigi... and fldigi is in the right mode, frequency and waterfall location to receive... and your squelch is off... correct? if so, if nothing is coming up on the Receive tab... normally it means that flamp is not receiving the header info from your xmit station. checking incoming audio levels might help.

Hi Rick, Wholeheartedly agree with KD2MXO Bob and others. Your Fldigi series is on right on target with organization, just the right balance between perspective and detail and very good delivery (images and dialogue). Your other you tube video on practicing ,kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHqWhoGVf96sZ80, got me on track to see whether the 11 year old Lenovo laptop (Mint 18.1, repo version of Fldigi) could exchange messages with the newer Nokia Android phone (AndFlmsg) both perched on the dining room table. After some trial and error, an ICS 213 form went both ways (did not have headsets, instead simply held phone a few inches from the laptop's mike or speaker, the headsets are a better idea...). As for configuration, the Linux settings seemed on track with about 99+% of the ones you demonstrated for Windows. Minor differences in sound cards (Windows particular, Linux adaptable, also in the devleoper's notes) and other sundry settings. The main thing is that.....it works!
