I had a DM who put in front of our evil party a merchant who was hauling a million gold in bouillon down the road. We ate so much soup after that encounter.

That's an interesting take on robbing a caravan bearing gold bullion.

I hope he at least had guards! But that sounds awesome, they knew exactly what they were doing!

"They could be the first adventurers ever to use carpenter's tools." This is true. Not even Krod used carpenter's tools; he just intimidated the planks until they knew better than not to be a crow's nest. I hadn't even thought about the "chance roadside encounter" very much before, but now that I'm pondering it, it reminds me of the standard "secret test of character" trope in fairy tales that happens so often. Example 1 actually put me in mind of it (though you went a different way with it!) And now, I have a new tool to use for--or against--my players. Thank you!

I love that, glad I could help inspire your creativity! I’d love to hear any roadside encounters you come up with!

Popping a comment for one of my favourite DND creators Recently did joint camp with a party of NPC adventurers, with skill challenge to set up a good camp (hunting, cooking, chopping trees for makeshift tables). On group success give them inspiration or some additional bonuses. Introduction for rival group or friendly NPCs, with plot hooks via sharing stories

I always love a good skills challenge, such a fun idea to set up camp and get a little boon! And thanks for the support, as usual! Always appreciated!

One of the coolest travel encounters my dm used was a mime wearing a gold mask with a twisted smile stopped us on the road. He wouldnt let us pass until we played a game with him, but when someone joined they were taken over by the mask. The solution to the puzzle was to applaud the mime and give compliments, and in the end we got the mask as a cursed magic item for our bard player :)

That’s interesting, sounds creepy but fun! And a free magic item never hurts! (Even if cursed)

I got suggested a video of yours a couple of weeks ago and I loved your energy so I wanted to be apart of your journey; I just got the feeling that you are going to get bigger when the right exposure hits your window, I wish you nothing but the best brother, looking forward to future videos! Stay safe & God bless!

Congratulations to you on another great video and to the Florida Panthers for winning the 2023-24 Stanley Cup! What an amazing series that was, and your Verhaeghe prediction was pretty close, just a game late haha wish my bruins could have made it, but I got to celebrate already in 2011, I hope you really get to take it all in and enjoy your hard earned victory! (PS: as a Coyotes fan I am really happy for OEL)
@TheBardsCollegeYT3 ай бұрын
Thank you so much, we really had to sweat it out but glad we got there in the end! OEL definitely earned it! I’m gonna soak it all in, but I’m sure we’ll be meeting your Bruins again in the playoffs next season! And of course thanks for all the support on my videos, really means a lot seeing friendly faces in the comments each week!

Great stuff, I'm definitely going to use the obelisks with my current group, as one of them *is* a god but has forgotten and lost their power since they have no worshippers any more. The player doesn't know this, so this would be a way of giving them a hint.

Bards are going to bag pipe camp. However none of them play the pipes, and their pipes are badly tune, and are worse shape than a jr high school instruments.

Honestly, having to help a bunch of bards fix their instruments for an upcoming gig is a pretty good plot hook!
