42 minutes to solve this one, which I find in good condition. The cages aren't too hard, but are not easy as well. One can tackle it by the whispers, then the smaller cages. The repeats are not hard to find that way.

fun puzzle, but yeah those killer consecutive cages are quite difficult. I actually ended up making the same mistake you did.

During my solve, I focused mostly on the whisper lines at first, and as little as possible on the cages. That approach seemed to work well for me.

62:25 under 2x Slueth time which is good for me. Enjoyable video and puzzle as always. As someone who hates cold showers, I hope your heating problems get fixed soon. spoiler I think your reasoning on the 19 cage is mistaken. You did not eliminate 12345 with 1,1,2 as the extra numbers.

correct. at 17:00, he has forced a 1 into the box 1 section of that cage, which could still be 123(something). the cage could then be (123)x2 + 1 + something, which could be satisfied by using a 5, and increasing a 3 to 4. further work elsewhere is required before finishing that cage

Funny, but true, 27 and 27 for me to solve this puzzle, whew!!! Hard won it was! Definitely a 2 star. Fun, though!

Today puzzle is the most cute of these series till now. At first I tough that this "consecutive but can repeat" rule would mean like having white dots in the cage. But as soon as I colour the German Whispers I noted that the Dutch Whispers in box 3 needed the 159. Because 24 cage needed 789 I could see that my theory was wrong (if was right 8 would be on the middle). Anyway, after finding that I did the 27 cage (pencilmark the whole G. Whispers), the 57 cage and the #6 Dutch Whispers. Got it pretty quick and did not need to do the 19 cage, because it completed itself by sudoku. Thanks for today's puzzle!! See you tomorrow!! 😊

On the negative sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me, 12 repeated cage digits, 11:06 solve time, 5 orange and blue lines, 473 solver number, and a German whisper in a pear tree!

I did OK with this one - solved in 31:20. The consecutive cages weren't too hard to figure out, given that you have to achieve an exact total from a given set of numbers.

Very hard. I failed at 29:25 I started with the German and Dutch whispers and got through quite quickly but those cages! Wow they were tough. Great solve Sleuth!

I’d interpret it as long as any digit can be consecutive to at least the rest of the cage’s digits, you’re golden!

We are too much used to nonrepeating consecutive cages. These cages must have digits from a consecutive set, but each digit can repeat as many times as other rules allow.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I just didn't listen to my own interpretation and inssited on making it consecutive in each box for no good reason! 😊

@@SudokuSleuth Initially the rule was confusing for me as well, so I started with the same strategy as you did to see what is forced into those cages, just got a bit more lucky and got the pieces.
