Thank you. My Orion 8" Newt is my main imaging telescope and I hope to post some images from it soon now that all the upgrades are done.

Great video man, love your work! For the past couple days I've been trying to optimize my 130PDS with diy upgrades. One thing that I would like to add is, checking for light leaks in focuser by shining a light and taking effectively a "dark frame". I'm curious how much does it help with contrast if you flock and paint the reflective things inside the tube? Haven't seen a 1:1 comparison before and after. But I guess it can only help if done properly :D Have a g' day sir

Thanks friend! I do wish I had the time to do a proper before and after comparison but some of my upgrades were done over a long period of time (such as blackening the drawtube and bolts) so I can't do a true before and after. I think the difference will be easily noticeable after blocking the light leak from the back of the primary mirror if you image from a location with lots of light pollution or lights nearby. If you are in a dark area, light leaks won't be a big issue so it will be less noticeable. The difference from flocking the inside of the tube and the bolts etc will be much more subtle and likely not very noticeable.

Nice video, I've had my Orion Skyview 8 for 22 years never thought about imaging with it until now. The focuser is junk, I'm looking for a good one that will drop in with little effort, I don't see your link that you mentioned, thanks again for the great info
